I thought Dani (Libertie) was going to bring this up because we were talking about it a while ago, but I guess not.

In any case, we are raising the minimum post count to become an official member to two hundred posts in order to prevent people from posting fifty times to gain access to the extra tools and then leaving forever. Therefore, should we not also raise the minimum post count for a layout request from fifty to two hundred? Because if we didn't, it would be the same case--people would post fifty times and then ditch the forum once someone made a layout for them.

im so sick of people not reading the rules of just 50 posts, and then demanding a layout.

besides, the posting requirements could be uniform for everything.

But yeah, I hate that people can get away with that. I did one layout request here and I will never do another one unless I know the person/have talked to them. It's frustrating for all that work to go to waste because the person never makes it to 51 posts. I feel like it might still be the same way even if we raised it though.. I'm not sure how to remedy that.

200 posts is alot just to request a layout. I think the highest should be no more than 100 maybe, but meh, that's just me.

Well I think the point is that they shouldn't be earning the posts simply to earn the right to request a layout, but rather prove their dedication to CB through their time spent here and then recieve the privilege of requesting a layout.

^ I don't think it's necessary to be only for official members.
Some of the members here aren't too active to get the 5 ppd, but 200 posts are enough to show that they have contributed to the cB community.

i dont know seeing as you arent guaranteed a layout when you request i see no reason to make the post count so high

its not going to change the fact that people are STILL going to request no matter what the requirements are if they dont have them

if you want to only accept the requests for those people that prove their dedication to CB through their time spent here than shouldn't you make it so those people that have been memebers for more than say 2 months with more than 50 posts can only make requests? or somthing along the lines of that, keeping they should still remain a member for more than a month before requesting a layout

I think you should maybe include a time they have to had been a member and also a ppd to go with that. That shows they've been an active member and contributed.

Okay, I agree with a raising of the post count, but will that help anything? Members are still going to ignore the rule.

How about people without that post count not being allowed to start a new topic in that forum automatically? ...similiar to non-mods not being allowed to start topics in the xanga layouts sections... is it possible to program that?

Sure, 200 posts is fine, but I'd suggest 150 (200 takes a while).

Wait ... how many people violate the rule with less than 50 posts? And ... how many people did not violate the rules above 50 posts?

I think people who do accept request should/MUST also contribute the layout to Createblog, not individuals AT ALL. Just in case if "that" person doesnt like the new layout. Some other people MIGHT like it ... and it's not waste unless the layout is rejected by moderators ... Great idea, eh ?

Well... it's actually in the rules that you HAVE TO submit the layout to cB.
No personal layouts allowed.

i dont really understand why there is a need for any limits... if someone wants to make a design froma request, it will be because they enjoy it, and what does it matter who it is for?
