anyone know any good tutorials on how to make such simple but elegant looking backgrounds somewhat like what my friend here has?

her background is way cute.

i think she uses PSP but i only have adobe cs...so can anyone help me out here please?

It's a mixture of things really, so I'll kind of tell you a few of the things she did so you can know what to search for.

The background is patterned. It's vertical stripes first, and then diagonal lines.. Search our tutorials forum for "patterns" and you'll find one by xquizit that is pretty good.

Next part is up to you - there are tons of tutorials out there for blending and layer masks/styles, so just look around (check out our big book of resources, there is an overwhelming amount of links) for blending and colorization tutorials.
