How interesting...
That rich bastard.
Oh, and uh. Advertising on the internet runs up way higher than 1000 dollars in many many cases, and since he had such a creative idea that made his site famous, the 1000 dollars seems reasonable. So that's probably why companies would pay.

Jan 7 2006, 05:47 PM
its not 1000 dollars anymore, look at the ebay auction. 152,000 for 1000 pixels

1,000 dollars for a 10 by 10 pixel space?
Jeez. Still. I suppose that if you were a company, 1,000 dollars really isn't that much. It probably just sounds like a lot because we're all broke =)

LOL The most success I've ever had with an Ebay auction.. Well, I think I'm having it right now. I'm selling the complete set of Sailor Moon manga, and so far it's doing a lot better than I thought it would.
If I had the money I'd have bought a space just for bragging rights.

Apparently you can copyright the idea of selling pixels, as it could be caterorised under inventive commercial techniques under New Business and Retail Theories, and therefore by doing this he will have to stop selling the pixels and stop advertising stuff on his website, by stopping what he's already doing, he will be breaching an industrial contract and get sued and will have to pay millions for the company's losses. The idea is ingenius, but right now every one of us has the freedom to do what he is doing unless he copyrights the idea.
