you'd use the system recovery disk.
but anyways, you do realize that reformatting your computer means (effectivley) deleting the entire hard drive, and putting all settings at factory status?
and no, there's no way to keep your limewire or itunes installed.

what i would do is buy a 2nd harddrive and copying all ur files (music, videos, pics, etc) into that and then reformatting the other one..
to reformat.. reboot your pc, put the windows cd, RUN FROM CD, let the thing run, click on Install somewhere, highlight Quick Format in there, let it run, and then just keep following the installation.

If all your music is on your iPod..
When your computer gets back up...there are free programs that you can download that will transfer music from your iPod to your computer. I recommend
iPod Copy. See these programs don't transfer all your music at the same time, unless you buy them. The trial to most is 5 at a time. But
iPod Copy does it 10 at a time. It might be a little tedious, but it'll be worth it if you want all your music back. If you have any questions about it--you can just PM me.
That's a missing element of iTunes

Or you can use iPodium Explorer.
This will allow you to explore it as a harddrive using Windows Explorer.
