i've customized my layout myself yet when i go to my friends page only about 16 posts show and on the bottom it says viewing the most recent entries with no link for earlier ones though i know there are definitely earlier posts. i was wondering if there is any way to fix that.

Yes, please go ahead and post your overrides.. Don't be discouraged though, it's really difficult at first but you'll get it.
