Does anyone take or know of someone that takes any anti-depressents? I've always wondered if that stuff really does change a person for the better.

..and please do respond with an expierence about someone you "know". I've been to other peoples' xangas before and encountered people online that abuse zoloft and such. Reading about some druggie with an addication to one of these drugs doesn't make one applicable to respond with the info i'm looking for.

nahh i don`t anyone that does ... sorry

The lack in responses gives me hope...either nobody ever heard of this foreign "depression" or everyone chooses not to associate with people that suffer from it.

i take prozac and its helped. people always tell you that you might OD on it or something, but thats only certain types of anti-depressants. so yeah, it works.
WildGriffin
how does it work. like...do you pop one and feel awesome about life like an hour later?

I don't trust depression pills. Do something recreational to relieve stress and depressoin instead. Works better than pills, trust me.

Haven't you seen the commercials?? lol, well yeah... i took psychology last semester, so i know a lil about this. And plus, my mom suffered from depression, and I dunno if the pills really worked, but here it goes.

The pills are supposed to balance chemicals in your brain, because depression, believe it or not, is caused by chemical imbalances in your brain, and those chemical imbalances may have been caused by something else. Well, hmm... i know it has something to do with, endorphins?? or dopamine?? lol, i dunno, I forget, but yeah... Does something to the chemicals in your brain, and it's supposed to help you better cope with the depression... I dunno if it works INSTANTLY, but I think it takes a while...

Yes they do work, you should see a psychiatrist to answer some of your questions. I have taken them, due to my Bipolar disorder.
