I need a different kind of interent? Eh, I'm not sure what to call it. But, the layouts I make look completly different on Firefox and Netscape. (Those are the two I have.) IE dosen't work on my computer. I'm not sure why. It says that I'm not connected to the interent, but I am?
So is there another I can download for FREE that the page looks like on IE?

Well, browser compatibility doesn't really depend on your browser, it depends on your coding. It will still not work for others, even if you find a browser that displays your page the way you want it to.
There is a IE-like browser that's good, it's Avant. You can use that to test and develop layouts, and go in between it and Firefox and Netscape to test it.

Hm, eh, i'm a little confused about the first part you said.
But, my sister has IE and it was different on that than it was from firefox.

i would stick to making it look better in firefox, as they use standards.

IE tries to set it's own standards.

Of course, the biggest issue with that route is that IE has over 70% market share, so if you code something that doesn't look good/doesn't work in IE, most of the visitors are not going to be able to view the webpage correctly.

The best solution is to stick with valid code that displays properly in all browsers. As long as you're not doing "weird" stuff, that's usually a simple endeavour.

Why not just make sure that your page looks good in IE, FF, and Safari? Those are like..the only 3 I really hear about.

I think safari is for mac's...

But stay away from Konquerer.

Well you can keep using Firefox...There's an extension for it that lets you display IE in Firefox so viewing your layouts won't be all funky and stuff.

I think the thread starter is confusing the definition of browser with "internet" (as in, each browser is a different kind of internet), thanks to IE.

For some reason, I can't download that. I get a message within the browser saying that I disabled Software installation. When I do enable it, nothing happens...

you click the add button on the bar that comes at the top, and then you have to click and add button on the window that comes up.

There isn't any add button. In Firefox Options or the page for downloading the extension. I get that message when I click "Install Now".

then, when you click on an extention, a yellow bar should pop up at the top of the screen.

click on change, then something pops, and you click on allow.

No. Instead of the pop up with an allow button, I get "Edit Options". It takes me back to the Content tab in Options.

Huh. I'm on my sister's computer and she has version 1.0.7 and it works.

I have that installed. I'd rather just make the code compatible with both and make everyone happy. It presents a challenge, anyway. :P

Then maybe that version of the extension is incompatible with 1.5.
