Today is global AIDS day. See this is when the heads of our countries talk about what they are going to decide to do about the AIDS epidemic. This is what live 8 was about, to convince the 8 people to make a choice on this day. I thought I'd tell everyone because there are some people I know that don't know.

Well. That's ironic, as I heard on the radio this morning that the Catholic church has banned the use of condoms.

It's things like that that make me doubt my religion. Ridiculous.

Well, yes, they can't very well ban them period. Contraceptivesd in general aren't allowed as they're interfering with God's plan and whatnot

Yeah, they made an announcement in my school and there was table with information about AIDS, and they were giving out the ribbons. They even said to practice safe sex and that there were condoms available in the nurse's office.

My health teacher told me this and I saw the ribbon on Google.

Yep, for sure. We were handing out and signing AIDS petition forms to make sure everyone was aware of this horrible epidemic. A lot of people wore red ribbons, I wore my AIDS bracelet.

We had this discussion in English class about AIDs a few days ago.

It's shocking... there are thousands of millions of AIDs patients around the globe, and some of them are still being discriminated against.

Our school didn't inform us, ut i put a piece of paper on my shirt that informed people. I swear AIDSis going to cause the extinction of our species in the end...

i saw this thread yesterday, but never responded. id found out it was world aids day when i was looking for holidays for my friend making a calender in one of her computer classes.

its nice we at least have a day dedicated to it, but i really think people should try to do more to help the cause. not saying they arent trying now, but getting more people involved may help find a cure.

Ooh yea I knew :D There was a website where you clicked where you're located and selected strength, love, hope, etc. as goals or something and for every person who participated, the company sponsor gave $1 to the aids foundation. :]
