See if you can get a cheap copy of Photoshop 4 or 5 somewhere and then buy the upgrade. The upgrade to 8.0 is about $150-200 I think, and an older version (full) is probably like $40. A lot better than spending $500-600 on a full version of 8.0.

If worst comes to worst go buy Paint Shop Pro for $50.

You can also get it off KaZaA or a website but then its illegal.
