Do you have a stereo-type for people who wear brand names, designer clothes and accessories? some think they are snobs and i'm just wondering what you think.

Yes, it's always like that unless you have uniforms.
MeLoNiSyUmMy
not really. i do that but im not one of those "0mGzzz! i'M suCh a SUCK@@@@ 4 B@rB13s!!!" i actually pretty much hate people who think they're cool;;barbies;;know their snobs;;or think its cool to be a bitch.
HoodieObsessed
I don't stereo type ppl by what they wear...at least I try not to. deffinitly not for wearing brand names, who cares?
mzbbc
i sometimes stereotype against girls who wear designer clothes and shit... but only because i wish i could afford expensive designer brands. rolleyes.gif

yup actually...at my school there r the azns (ghetto asians who wear baby phat..ecko..and all the other pink pink stuff) then the asians...who r not snobby and think theyre cool like the azns do...the asians arent brand name conscious..and then...there r the black north face ppl....who r asian guys who wear black north faces w/ string nike bookbags....seriously..wow...my school we classify ppl by what they where...wow...and the ppl in that group look IDENTICAL

its a mass of black northface goretex w/ BLACK nike bags
its a mass of pink baby phat shirts and pink "juicy" sweatpants
its a mass of pink shirts/mass of ecko w/ pink caps..-azn guys lol

i notice these r all asian ppl tho..O.o loll...the other ethnicities in my school arent that..divided
ImThatKiddo
yeah it sucks to see these different groups and it also sucks that people classify you because of what you wear and buy
Gigi
I hate the idea of imposing a single personality trait on a group of people. I wouldn't mind if you said that they were "a group of people who wear brand name, designer clothes and accessories" but to say they are snobs is unacceptable. The clothes don't make you a snob. How you present yourself to others make you a snob.
misoshiru
no. 99% of the people at my school wear brand names/designer clothes/accessories.
Gypsy Eyes
Most designer labels are usually just nicer and better quality. I'm not a fan of dressing in only designers like guicci or LV. It does come off as snobby.
Nicolatofu
I don't think that just because someone wears high priced name brands means they are snobby. It seems to be the majority though. Some people just prefer certain brands of clothing.
lilliannnn
I see how people stereo-type it in to snobby. As for me, I don't think that all people who wear designer brands are snobby, they just have more money and care to spend it.
BOOGERSHAHA
actually i think it's pretty pathetic when girls have FAKE designers since they're basically saying, "i want to come off as rich and snobby so here is my fake louis vuitton purse."
_sarcastic_
wearing only overly priced clothing is what i call snobby
angelrevelation
i guess... first i get the impression of rich, which comes the stereotype snobby lol. but... i know at least 2 of my friends who have designer stuff, and they're really nice
think!IMAGINARILY
meh. almost all the girls in my school wear aeropostale. there's not really a stereotype though.

i laugh at those people because they're so stupid. they all have the same damn things, the same shoes and jackets especially. the only colors they wear are red, black, baby blue, pink, and white. but mainly red and black. they should find some originality.

i don't really stereotype people but i can tell if a louis vuitton or burberry or whatever bag is fake so i laugh at the stupid people who carry them.

^ I agree! There are a bunch of people at my school who wear designer brands and almost everyone wears Hollister/A&F/Abercrombie/American Eagle/Aeropostale. Then there's a bunch that also wear Ecko Red and other brands. Also, you've got those who wear clothes from Blue Room/Sun Diego (Volcom/Hurley/Matix). I haven't really seem people wear much Juicy Couture.

There is a trend going on here, but how one presents themself is the huge factor in all of this. Just because they wear designer brands doesn't mean they're snobby--I know a girl who wears LV, Coach, Arden B., 7's, etc. and she's really nice.

The ones that ARE snobby are the ones that constantly criticize others who don't wear designer brands or always compare lol. Eek I've had my share of those snobby people, and they're usually fake--they make a big deal out of one thing... -_-"
much2muse
yea i'd say people at my school are stereotyped

the preppies -- the ones who always look perfect and all the guys like them... yupp. and some of them pretend to be stupid
the wanna be preppies -- they just wish they were popular and follow the preps around like a puppy dog
goths
popular skaters
druggies
thug people
band/choir people
semi punk people
full on punk kids who think everyone else is a poseur. lol.

idk. i dont like sterotypes, but thats life.
much2muse
meh, some of my friends wear indie shirts and then they'll wear like ae and get called poseurs. thats annoying. they can wear what they want, theyre still the same person.
sense.n.style
just because they wear expensiv stuff, i wouldnt think of them as snobs... rich, and maybe spoiled, but i dont think wat they wear should interfere w/ thei personality.

Yeah, I totally agree with you Gigi. A lot of people here have those kinds of things, and I could care less. They don't make the person, so yyeeah.

I agree! It is really unfair to judge people on what clothes they wear. Jeez, I hate when people do that. "Oh she must be a bitch, she has expensive clothes on!11!!". ROAR.
Bobblehead425
i HATE purses such as louis vuitton...just like brands, because they arent even cute they are there to show off money

I DEFINITELY DISAGREE! Sure SOME of them may be snobs but that doesnt make EVERYONE does it? thats totally biased. I wear designer brands but not because I want to come off as rich or snobby. Maybe its because I like that kind of style or because the materials are finer then other cheap stores. I hate that anyone would ever stereotype someone by the way they dress. I hate that people always try to define others when they cant even define themselves. The clothes may be a part of your whole presentation of yourself but that doesnt mean your exactly what your cloth make you look. Its just annoying that people judge others and never even get to know whats inside that persons heart. I think THOSE people are the true snobs
lakerfever2476
Well, I'll admit that I'm a slave to brand name clothes. But, the clothes I buy aren't really that expensive. The brand name clothes I have usually come from the clearance department or something like that. Hah, I suck don't I?

For me, I don't really think of rich people as snobby. I know a lot of wealthy kids. They don't really brag about their clothes or anything.

depends
xchrystizzle
sometimes i do if they have a snobby attitude, but i have some friends that have designer things and theyre nice they dont go around showing it off and acting concieted
ilauqh
You can't stereotype people that wear designer clothes. Some people that wear designer clothes I guess happen to be snobs but not all people are. You can be a snob if you wear designer clothes or not.

I know quite a few people that are rich and I know some that brag to me all the time (since they used to not be rich a long, long time ago or something -_-"), but the rest aren't snobby at all. People who brag and are snobby about things really don't have anything better to do and are so insecure about themselves that they have to prove to other people that they are better than them. sweating.gif

I'm also a slave for brand name clothes, but I also buy a lot things that are clearanced or on sale. I have a knack for finding sales. wink.gif

hmm being in a private hs, well almost like everyone wear designer clothes or have designer bags, but not all of them are snobby, actually most of them are pretty nice. to me i gotta admit that i love buying name brands stuff, but it's not just for the brand, it's for the style/material.
lilnatcat
I would'nt stereotype them as snobby.

I'd just think that they're spoilt coz of all the brand named stuff they have.....

One or 2 pieces I would'nt mind, infact.... would anyone?!
But if ur dressed just full brand named expensive clothing and accessories from head to toe, I'd just stare...... and know that they'll be one of the next victims to be robbed...... O_o
