Does anyone know what operating system the Xbox 360 runs on? Does it use the same (or a similar) modified Win2k kernel as the original Xbox, or did MS develop something new? I've been having trouble finding information on the 360's operating system software.

I think it is an overhauled version of the OS on the XBox, but more like Media edition.

I got a question for the xbox360, can it be connected to a computer and save files onto the xbox and then are we able to connect it to the tv and watch the files we put in from the computer??

Well, an operating system in a computer or computer-like device handles basic functions and provides a framework on which to build software. I wondered what operating system the Xbox 360 runs--the original ran a heavily modified Windows 2000 kernel. (A kernel is the very heart of the operating system that controls interaction between hardware and software.)
