I heard that you can buy a disk that can make an american ps2 play japanese imported games... blink.gif If this exists i would buy it. ohmy.gif

At least its better than buying an expenseve japanese ps2, that JUST plays imports...than you'll have 2- one american, and one japanese(now that's a waste of money _dry.gif )

Is this true?

i think you mod it or something.
imhyper
really? Like pulling it apart, and adding a chip- if that's what you mean ermm.gif
I think i'll end up breaking it if i do that wacko.gif hiring people to do it for you sounds expensive too...

Yes, you add basically a chip. Problem with that is, you can no longer play online games when you MOD your PS2.

There are several ways to do this,

A.) Modchip it. which lets you play the games by just putting it in.

B.) There is someother way, and people just call it, "fixing your playstation." They do this in Korea and other countries. I've never seen it or tried it.

C.) get a Jap Ps2, I heard those can play any kind.

D.) Bootdisk. A disk that will let you load the game. Simply put it in, wait for it to load. Then it should say insert disk or something. This can also work with Gamesharks and Action Replays, and Max whatever devices.

E.)Modify your playstations outer casing. AKA the old switcharoo. You have to modify it that so that you can open the disk area, while the disk is spinning and still running. Then when it says, "Playstation 2 or playstation logo", you have to switch the disk. This is hard, You can burn your hand from the revolving disk, break it, mess up your ps2, mess up your import disk by trying to put it into the moving diskloader, etc.

I think thers one more, But i don't remember.

haha! the "switcharoo" sounds like a simple dangerous way to do it. laugh.gif
Maybe i'll get the japanese ps2...i didn't know it would play everything cool.gif

I did that with my PS1. It's only about $30 to get it done in Thailand. problem is when you get home you might have to adjust a few TV settings.

a boot disc is simple and inexpsive. BUT it may not work on all games or may just be fake, depends who u buy it from.

i remember i bought a boot disc for my dreamcast like YEARSSSSS ago, but it never worked

^ Mine worked perfectly. I don't know where you bought yours from.

Because Thailand might use PAL. Although I think all of Asia except maybe some middle eastern countries and Russia use NTSC.

^ Yeah I know, I know, I was just saying that's all..
