well i really want to play football. and yes i am a gurl, and im pretty darn good. i dont kno much of the game, but i play with a bunCh of my guy friends and they say im really good. but i asked my mom if i could play but she said she's afraid of me getting hurt. like, at some schools, if a gurl is any good, she is allowed to be on the football team. soo do u guys think that a gurl could play football with guys or should they play just with girls?

as long as the girl is ok with the physical contact and everything, i dont see what the problem would be.

If you want to play, you should and no one should stop you. We have a couple girls on our team, and one of them beasted up the field. Shes one of the hardest hitters on Freshman team.

High school football? Where do you live? Whats your height? Weight? Position you want to play? Do you have any organized football experience?
They are all important questions. Organized football is way, way different than just a pickup game.

if u wanna, like it's wat u really wanna do, go for it. when i played last year we had a female kicker on the team. it was gay though cuz she came wayyyyy late like after conditioning period of the year was over and right when season was about to start, plus we had a good kicker already and she sucked so that made the other players mad.

that would suck that shes not allowed to play.
i think that if a girl is good enough and doesnt complain about getting hit or getting her jersey dirty, then she should definately be allowed to play.

everyone gets hurt in football. girls are no exception. I think if you want it, go for it! but don't expect that being a girl will make u invulnerable to a back-cracking tackle.

Just go along and play the sport, you're mother didn't actually say no.
What ever sport I played, I was injured in. You have to expect that when your playing the sport.

Every year at our school we have a "Powder-puff" football games. Its when the Juniors and the Seniors go at it on the football field and play "flag" football. It becomes full contact by the get go. Guys can be the cheerleaders if they want.... But, I just go to get a good laugh. I know you most likely want to play football, but they wont put you on the team. You can cry discrimination, but in court the school board will win. Many people have tried it across the US and the World itself, there are guys sports, then there are girls sports. Football just happens to be one of them. I would support you if you made the team and all that, but the odds are against you. In the end it becomes more of a problem, and a responsibility the school district will not want to deal with.

and are you sure the guys didnt mean u were good, for a girl? what guys did you play with? i bet you played with nick huh?

Just play try and see if your local coach will let you, If he does join. I play football with girls all the time ( there is only 1 guy my ager that lives by me and like 7 girls) girls are fgreat at football they can even run faster than most of us guys so I say join. For your mom just join dont tell her until youve been playing for a while then tell her she will then know that your not injured.
You can get injured in cheerleading and softball too they are girls sports but you still get hurt my ex gf got hurt jumping off a pyramid of girls cheerleading. You can get hurt gardewning for that matter so there realy isn that much to worry about.

Okay, its not all about "OH MAH GOD WHY CANT GIRLS DO THAT TOO? THATS NOT FAIRRR!"
A main reason why girls and guys do not play together is because of distractions from having a different sex teammate. If you just play with your friends its fine, but on an actual league, girls cannot play with guys. They must play with other girls.
Don't think of this as an unfair limitations, because really, guys aren't allowed to play against girls, only guys. Its the same both ways.
Plus, coaches don't want to take any chances with injuries.

Quarterback is generally a position that has a higher height requirement. A QB is considered small if s/he is 5'10, much less 5'5. Your in high school (same here), and you have to be able to see over the O-line and D-line while your in the pocket and read defenses. I don't know about you, but at my school, the offensive tackles and guards are generally in the 6'0-6'3 range. I myself play WR and CB and am 6'1.
I'm not critisizing your toughness here, but if I weighed 138 pounds and got blindsided in the pocket by a 220lb defensive end..I don't think I'd be getting up very soon. The sport and position requires more height and weight.
There are some special cases though. Darren Sproles is 5'5 running back and was selected in this years football draft. However, Sproles weighs in at 185lbs. That still means there is some chance for you getting some playing time at RB, depending on the current RB at your school.
Not trying to be mean, but it's gonna be real tough for you to make the team, and if you do, to get playing time.

Well think about it, you'll be getting tackled by guys that are probably alot heavier than you. But if you're aggressive (sp?) I don't see why you can't.

Yeah, same here. We just have powderpuff football during homecoming activies. this year, the freshman totally pwned everybody, and the guy cheerleaders stuck balloons down their shirts. Pretty amusing stuff.
Anyways, like everyone else said, if you're not afraid of getting hurt, go for it. Dude, here, a bunch of people wanted to start a girls football team, but none of them actually wanted to play football. -_-'
