Sorry, I didn't know where to post this, but I thought this would be the right place. I bought Sims 2 Nightlife awhile ago, installed everything, and have been playing for like a month. Then a couple weeks ago I got this

anyway...nightlife probably takes a lot of space...so you probably don't have room for it anymore

possibly you don't have direct 9 and your graphics card stinks!

get direct 9

Make sure your graphics card did not break, or get uninstalled somehow. The message seems to be pointing to the fact the Direct X 9 cannot find a usable graphics card, not that you need direct X 9.

Something like this happened with my and my old Sims. I'm not sure if it will work with yours.

Start > Run > dxdiag > display > directdraw acceleration > click enable/disable. not sure what yours is on but just click on it.

if that doesn't work, then reclick it and it'll be back.

hmm, that happened to me and i reformatted my computer and it was fine again, because my computer wouldnt download the direct x 9.0, it was pissing me off
