It is and the mastermind behind this crime is Rumiko Takashi. She really is a good story-teller.
The story goes like this. (I'm making it consice) A guy eats mermaid skin to become immortal and starts to regret it.

oh i read the summary thing somewere before. yeah then he finds a girl that also eaten mermaid skin but thats about all i know

^yup buy it! But just buy the first disc or something. Because you know, some people have different tastes and I am afraid you might regret watching a great series.
