Friends with benefits are awesome if and only if there are no feelings involved. As long as both parties agree that you're only in such a relationship because of physical needs, then there shouldn't be a problem. Only when one party starts having feelings for the other that it becomes stupid.

So, if you want this "friends with benefits" thing to work, make sure you don't develop feelings with him.

u guys broke up "to save you from the pain"??? okay thats messed up. that sounds like my ex, we broke up before sumthin bad happens. right, and how do you even know that sumthing will go wrong??!!! you never know how a relationship's gonna work out. so i dunno, it looks to me like you did the right thing by taking your hand back. it just sounds like he gave u a bogus reason for breaking things off. like he's scared. i dunno if i would take that guy back. i kno if my ex all of a sudden asked me out again i would have to say no, even though i still have a lot of feelings for him. its wrong. i dunno, i would let this one go.
