I know that there's a search feature for topics in the forums, but I think we need a search feature for skins. If you're looking for a particular skin, browsing takes a long time. If you type in 'myspace skins' or 'xanga skins' in the search button, you'll get a bunch of unneccessary topics.

Currently, you can search by type of skin, username, and date.

And category, number of favorites, and number of downloads as well.

Well, say you want a skin that features a particular band. You could type in the band's name and see what skins they have. This saves a lot more time, and is, in my opinion, much more effective than searching over 100 pages to get what you want.

The average person isn't really going to care about the number of downloads or favorites on a skin. A lot of the people who use cB skins aren't even members. Same with the date.

The username, category of the skin, and the type of skin you want (band name, word, etc.) are just some of what really matter to a person searching for skins.

I don't know if a lot of members noticed this, but you CAN search for skins! But you have to be a member to do so. You use the Searc feature! Well, you can still use the Search feature in skins. Say, if you wanted to find a cherry blossom skin, just click Search in the forums. Then where it says enter in a keyword or phrase, you can put in "cherry blossom" then where it says search where, change it to |-- xanga. Then change search posts from to ANY DATE in the drop-down menu.

I'm serious--IT WORKS. I just used it right now and found an angelic blossoms layout. :]

that's only searching the topics. i'd be much easier if you could search the skin browser.

Well I don't think we can make a search feature like that..I mean, people title skins however they want. The only way to search it would to be to search through the topics.

How about when we submit skins, making the information textarea required or adding a keywords textarea, where other people can search and find the layout they want. Of course that would have to mean a search that is available to non-members.
