We talked about this in another thread but I dont think we made an offical vote. So what is your take on the whole endorsement thing? Do you think applicants should be required to have endorsements in order to apply or just let the applicant speak for him/herself.

I now think endorsements are not needed, if an applicant is truely qualifed then that person will be able to speak him/herself through their posts (by looking over them) and what staff members and regular members have observed from them throughtout the community.

I think they're completely useless. I've written my reasoning somewhere. If you care and can't find it, I'll retype it later but I have to go now

Endorsements, at least those by official members, are not necessary. Staff endorsements are a lot better than regular ones, but even those are iffy...

Backstage, we say who we support anyway, so I don't think endorsements are needed.

she has a point. i say we just leave it at that because a lot of people were pointing out useless points to them when we talked about them earlier.

As far the committee members vote we have 6/10 decided that its not needed so, no endorsements will be required for hiring.

I dont see no point keeping this open so I'll close this. Any committee member that has something to add, feel free to reopen.
