ok so ive had chapped lips for...how long? oh yea since about mid AUGUST!!! _dry.gif

im not sure, but i think they mustve got sunburned or something.

ive put chapstick on it, like very day. ive been useng blistex/carmex/vaseline

even medicated.

although in the middle of the day it just gets horrible and all peely. in the morning its smooth and looks like they were stretched out because its so dry.

i dont want to carry around a huge thing of chapstick (like, the big ones..not the STICK) everwhere and all the time.
any suggestions?
crazedbaby
Chapstick's not bigg and you might as well. I hate having chapped lips and it looks weirdd..
islandkiss
carry it around with you and apply it every 2 hours.
_sarcastic_
i'm not sure what else is there to do, chapstick is like the best bet
it's small enough to fit in your pocket
oXMuhNirvanaXo
CHAPSTICK!!!!!!!!!!!! woushhhhhhhhh its amazeing.. use it and take it every where you goooooooooo.
bby_cutie
well..i dont use chapstick i use this type of chapstick called softlips. It's small enough to fit in your pocket. It has this minty feeling when you apply it on your lips too. ><
Bobblehead425
ok thanks....i kn ow chapsticks not big i mean the...things...lke the pots...lol i dunno
Endless_Love <3
whenever i have chapped lips like that it usually means im not drinkin enough water. so then i drink a lot of water and it goes away biggrin.gif
noexcuses89
I have Burt's Bee's and it gives your lips a fun tingley feeling. =] It's ever most enjoyable. It's also rated one the of the best chapsticks out there. So I'v heard atleast.
BrokenDream
use chapstick. its wayyy better than lip gloss. make sure it's a kind of chapstick that has spf 20 or something like that. it protects your lips from getting anymore sunburned. oh, and also, make sure you drink water too. it keeps your lips healthy. thumbsup.gif
WHOngos144
that happened to me from december to march, it's cuz i didn't drink that much water(maybe 2 glasses a day) and it got all dry and nasty

so drink lots of water, if you don't already
sprezzatura
Carry it around...a chapstick isn't very big. Drink more water, not soda, not gatorade, or any other forms of liquid that make you thirsty.
SandRAWRz
i had that almost my entire life..and i can never get rid of it..it's so annoying
Gigi
Use chapstick, it's your best bet. I mean, it's just a little tube, you can easily put that into a backpack or a pocket in your pants without looking weird or out of place. Reapply it often.

Another thing you can do is exfoliate your lips to remove all that dead skin. They'll feel softer, but make sure to apply more chapstick on or else the moisture will be pulled out of it after cleansing.

CHAPSTICK IS YOUR FRIEND. happy.gif

agreed. drink a lot of water and don't lick your lips when they're dry, it'll make them worse.
KissMe2408
Usually you get chapped lips because of your lack of water. So i suggest you drink more water everyday. Also, chapstick is nice...but if you want stuff that really works, try "Burt's Bees Lip Balm"
Here is a link to it: http://www.selfexpressions.com/bubelipbator.html

you don't have to order it online, usually you should find it at a mall or drugstore...

yes, drink lots of water!!
..but not too much to drown yourself! :O
iheartjohn
Overapplying chapstick makes the natural oils that your lips produce stop. But for quick fixes, I use a little bit of Vaseline - but not the chapstick Vaseline, just plain Petroleum Jelly.

I can't put my finger on why it helps but.....water does help. And drowning wont' help so dont do that O_O.

A combination of water, chap stick and warm atmosphere is my primary way to get rid of chapped lips. (though I can't remember the last time I had chapped lips.)

Also, maybe someone mentioned this already if you see that your lips are dry, for some reason it's very tempting to rub your teeth on your lips to take the itchiness / dryness away. DONT DO THAT EITHER!

WATER!
mai_z
Drink lots of water, but not just taking little sips during the day, I mean like drinking bottles of it at a time. If all you're doing is wetting your lips, it will get worse, because the water'll strip the oils off your lips. Softlips (it was mentioned up there somewhere) is great, I love it. ELF's got practically the same thing for cheaper too.

Lick your lips every so often and breathe out of your nose? And um, close your mouth.
toodlepops.
Drink lots of water. Or like Jenny said, lick your lips every now and then

my mom gets this stuff from a mary kay like company, called Beauti control, it works really well. You can dry out your lips overnight and then put condtioner on it and it will stay till you eat or something. Or just use the lip conditioner, it works really well biggrin.gif

Um, you're not supposed to lick your lips. Saliva actually dries your lips and make the problem worse.

Bath and Body Works has some really amazingly great mint clip gloss- oh hey, now I know what to get my friend for her birthday!! It's $7, which is why I hadn't bought any yet, but it's great stuff

That's widely believed, but it's not been proven, actually. It's best classified as an "urban myth". Chapstick is definitely pyschologically addictive, but it's not known for sure if it has physiological effects--it most likely does not. A Chapstick user can certainly develop a psychological addiction, however.
hawaii_chick
ohhh the best i know is the one im using.. L'Occitane Lavender Shea Butter (the purple one with essential oil) its really good, lasts long and smells nice:)
Eryi
Wouldn't lip gloss help you?
I think the moisture types work.
toria66622
I love chapstick..expecially the medicated kind that makes ur lips all tingly
emazing
Maybe you should go see your doctor if the problem persists.
I'm not sure if it's normal to have chapped lips that long [mine usually goes away within three - four weeks or so], but try applying a good brand of chapstick daily, and be sure to drink a lot of water, too.
xheartbreaker
I'm addicted to Chapstick (Which was mentioned somewhere up there ^), but only when I have it. I mean, I apply it in layers every 15 minutes when I have chapped lips, and they're gone overnight. Also, apply a layer of honey to your lips, then go to sleep; your chapped lips should be gone by morning.

Your best bet though, I'd say, is drinking lots and lots of water (Buy a huge case of water bottles.) and apply Chapstick (Or Carmex; I find that works better.) constantly.
JustAnotherTeenageLoser
Drink a lot of water, apply chapstick every few hours, and DO NOT LICK YOUR LIPS! Lip-licking is bad for your lips! Something in saliva dries them up.

omgah_itsmaggiex
burts bees wax or chap stik. do not leave home without it. use it every 2 hours. and lather it up before bed. i dont think your lips are still chapped..its been more than 2 months.
lilphoenix
Neosporin Lip Treatment [try a diff. brand] & drink water.

Do you also tend to lick your lips? That'll just hurt it worse.
sw33t_rouge
licking your lips make it more dryer..instead for extra moistre.. use moisterizing lip gloss's i use that around august when its dry then i switch back to chapstick in the summer (: hope i helped for the chapstick i use " body shop chapstick in hemp" <3 and the lip gloss i cant read it xP its japanese

p.s carmex do wonders (;
sharpandcuddly
effective (usually) fix: overnight take vaseline, a lot of it, and apply it to your lips. try to lay on your back cause you dont want to roll over and get it all over your bed. apply a few layers, and when you wake up, your lips should be soft. apply then burts bees lip balm. drink atleast 4 glasses of water that day, and apply more lip balm every 1-2 hours, depending on the feel of your lips. do this for maybe a week and then you should only need to apply the lip balm once or twice a day. also, exfoliate your lips with a toothbrush before applying lipbalm

i dont know about the breathing your nose part, but lickign your lips is one of the worse things you can do. go out to walgreens and get burts bees wax lip balm. its like 3 dollars. i use to have bad chaplips to. you know why, cause i licked my lips cause i thoguht it helps. it makes it worse
wind&fire
I use L'Occitane...
starlette
drink a lot of water and don't lick your lips a lot. OH, and watch out for some lip glosses they will make your lips peel. The really heavy thick one like loreal color juice. Look great but my lips peel. If you want something other than chapstick try sally hansens diamond lip treatment. Its lip gloss but its got moisturisers for your lips. I love it.
KERP1UNK
i had the same problem! theres this thing called 'mentha lip tint' from bath and body works. it has like peppermint oil or somethin.. it costs like 8 or 9 bucks i think..but its good for REALLY chapped lips
synthase
drink lots of water so your not dehydrated. eat healthy, apply chapstick on ever 2 and a half hours, uhh..yea
