yea, trends. what's the new one this fall? i dunno. and quite frankly, i dont' care.
since when did you have to rely on someone else who's probably never met you to tell you what you should wear to look good in?
this goes for all trends, not just the popular ones this season.
sure, if you want to wear 'emo', go for it. just do it because you like the clothes, or they look good in you. not becuase it's trendy.
just used emo as an example.
same goes for all other trends.
yes, it makes you so much better than the preps when you dress punk, just like everyone else.
it doesn't matter were you get your clothes, but wearing clothes just because they're popular?
same goes to music, but i won't really get into that in this rant.
i mean, if i find a look that looks good for me, i'll wear it.
screw trends. why is it ensured that what looks good on someone else looks good on me?
so basically i'm saying screw the fashion world. screw trends. yes, even screw anti-trend movements that are just underground trends.
because if the way you dress should be a reflection of you, not everyone else.

trends are so overrated
.
i might wear a tread something but thats only 'cause I like it, but not that I want to look like the other million girls out there or be so-called "tready"
.
good god, stop trying to be someone else. just be yourself.
okay goodbye. thats all i have to say.

some trends are really, really stupid. and sometimes I think that they aren't really that hot. sometimes, I admit, I do follow the crowd of fashion. not on conversation...

its not bad when you follow treads but some girl like seriourly they read like 8478478 fashion magzines and follow every single damn tread
.
like all their clothes have to be designer brand & it has to be in "style" & "tready".
seriourly girls who do that are so - UGH!

yeah, I know, but some trends in those magazines I follow.
...but not all the time. but 24/7, yes, I agree that's stupid.

I definitely wear trends. I mean when a new season comes every single new piece you buy is gonna look 'trendy' whether it be designer or from a highstreet shop. What happens is the designers come up with ideas and the shops 'follow suit'. So where I won't necessarily buy the whole 80's look I will definitely be wearing some sort of element from it. I like the cropped sweats I think they look sexy cool. Or the uggs, I didn't like the original ones but I liked those look alikes that had 'laces' thingy to tie around the boot. When I read magazines I do it mostly to get inspiration not to look exactly like the models there.

personally, i thought they looked like giant lampshades.
but thats just my opinion.

I don't care about trends and don't really follow them. In fact, I don't even know what the new "fall trends" are...

every year I might buy a couple of trendy things, I like trends just something different. I don't try and keep up with trends but I do want to know whats in or out.

i dont really see preppy clothes that much as a "trend"
its the only casual normal clothing trends out there right now, i mean c'mon.
its just more...simple. no acessories, girl pants, "unique" hair styles, over sized T's. just normal. since when is wearing a collared shirt a trend?

i like some trends because it allows me to change my style every once in a while and find out which styles i like best. i hate people that are anti-trend and are like "omg you don't dress goth or punk, so you can't listen to rock music!!!"
how about shut up and f**k off? number 1- it's none of your business. number 2 - how i dress doesn't affect you in any way, shape, or form. and number 3 - you're being hypocritical, because being goth, emo, or punk is now considered "trendy".
if you don't care about trends, then you don't have to. but not all trends are bad. people change and go through different phases during their lives when they're trying to find themselves and like to experiment with their appearances. get over it and find something more important to bitch and complain about.
btw--this wasn't intended at anyone...i was just ranting about it because i get pissed off talking about it.

Yup. Screw trends. I wear what's comfortable, not what's in. Jeans and a nice T-shirt for me. I don't even know what IS in, honestly, being homeschooled. I just wear what is comfy and what I think looks nice on me, not on anyone else.

I see a bit of irony in the topic of this thread. Anyone who proclaims not to follow trends clearly does pay some attention to trends; and, more often than not, is probably following an anti-trend anyway, or at least trying to make a big show of how he doesn't follow trends, in order to get attention or fit in with an anti-culture group--which is arguably just as bad, or at least just as annoying. It seems that a person who really isn't following a trend wouldn't bother trumpeting the fact; they'd probably be oblivious to fashion.
It seems kind of self-righteous to make a big show of not following trends, as if that makes a person special or unique.

I most definately don't follow trends...I don't read any magazines, and I don't go to public school, or go out very much, so I don't even know what people are wearing. I have some friends though who are following the emo trend, and it works for some of them, but for others it's just blah...When I did go to public school, everyone called me a poser because I didn't wear fishnets every day >__> Everyone's way too into their scenes nowadays to be themselves. Most people anyway.

I don't follow trends. I mean I'll go out to a mall and find a really cute outfit but yeah, that's about it. Sometimes the trends in magazines look kinda.. weird. But maybe that's me. I'm just with the jeans or sweats and a cute shirt. Or whatever else I feel like wearing. Yep.

i dont follow trends... but i'll get something that's trendy if i think it's nice

and there isn't really any point in following trends anyway because they can change at any moment.

its this preforming arts school, where everyone sort of does their own thing, and we generally dont have trends here.
my old school had trend like crazy though, and i hated that.
most trends out right now are lame anyway.
i dont follow trends.
