Eh...this is a poem I wrote. I've been working on it in my head for awhile, this is just a rough draft. Might not even be the way I end up going with it. More of just what it's about.

Define love,
Affection.
The importance of complexion.
Explain why I can't say,
That our hands look perfect intertwined,
Even though they do.
Write an essay about our sin,
Because of the difference of our skin,
And the color of our people.

Define the Romeo,
And Juliet,
Of Montague and Capulet.
Explain the ordeal,
And how two people,
Are their names and nothing more.
Write an essay about the times,
About getting over racism,
But not getting over seperation.

Define you and I,
We and us,
And why it matters what they think.
Explain the importance,
Of my being Caucasian,
And your being Hispanic.
Write an essay about our love,
A book left open for everyone to see,
Because it's no shame to me.
