sum guy called me chinese.... when im VIET! its really annoying when other ethnics call all asians *chinese* i know sum of us are.... BUT NOT ALL!!!

if u dont know... then juss call us an *asian* not CHINESE!

yeah, that happens to me a lot, especially when i was young. now, people come up to me and are like hey, you're filipino. i guess people are actually starting to figure out how to tell us all apart.

Ugh..that irks me so. I have nothing against Chinese people, either, but it's so ignorant to call someone "Chinese" simply because they're uneducated.

Its true. Most people (other than asians), confuse asian races a lot.

I don't really mind when they get me mixed up with other groups of asians. They're not intentionally doing it to annoy you, most people just can't tell the difference between different asians. Just like how I can't tell the difference between Cubans, Mexicans, and Puerto Ricans. I constantly mistake Mexicans for Cubans. Anyways, my point is that people just want to know what country you're from. And if they guess wrong, they're probably not doing it on purpose.

Anyways. OMG i hated it in 6th grade when people asked if i was chinese. I was like "wtf?" dang. They need to lern to tell us apart. I mean. dont we look different? I think asians do... i can almost instantly tell chinese apat from korean, filipino, viet, cambodian, japanese, etc. (not including those crazy "4% this, 5% that, 2%this, 1% that" mixed people.)

Haha, a lot of my peers ask me if I'm Korean. Three of my four nationalities are Asian, but I'm not even close to being Korean.

It's cause China is the most populated Asian country.

I am Chinese.. but the strange thing is that I once was called Korean (which I DON'T look Korean lol. It would be cool if i did ) by a group of Mexican girls. I don't have anything against Mexicans (but some can be pretty rude SOME...), but those girls randomly came up to me and said, "what are you, Korean? hahahha!" They laughed. As if it was a joke. I mean, I told them I was Chinese and Vietnamese and walked away. They just kept on laughing. Was that just some lame joke?! >_<"

The fact that people say "you're Chinese!" as if it was at the tip of their tongue... it's messed up. *sigh* but I mean, they just don't know... But mabye in the future they will.. God point, Nick, and Seon Ho. ^_^

i remember back when i didn't hang out with asians and i started to.. i couldn't tell the difference at all! now it's easier. you just notice certain things about people. Mm.. when i had the fade it was i'm korean or viet. When I grew out my hair it was I'm japanese or chinese. Sometimes I was white. Yea.

That happened to me ALOT when I was younger, but I had to educate them even when it was SOO difficult.

I tell them, if you are not sure, just say ASIAN. Not so hard. But, today, people are reliezing. Coolz~

I am filipino and was called many different things. One of which was black (no offense).

When I was in 3rd grade, some kindergartener, obnoxious little *&)&%#*&) called me "Japanese." See, that pissed me off because he would use it as an insult. "SHUT UP JAPANESE GIRL!" "STUPID JAPANESE GIRL" and there was a japanese boy on my bus.
Now I don't care.

yea, me too. it doesn't bother me that much. what really annoys me is when people, especially kids, try to "speak" the language by saying "ching chang... " and whatnot. that gets on my nerves soo much...
