Does anyone on this forum listen to any funk music? Old school or new school? Uh.. people like Sly and the Family Stone, Nikka Costa, James Brown, Prince, Commodores, Curtis Mayfield, Emotions, Stevie + more..

I like funk music, I think soul is better though, but it is alright. I dont have a favorite artist either, but Stevie's pretty good. and I like both new and old school.

I'm a bit more partial to soul. However, Superfly is one of the illest albums I've ever laid ears upon.
Speaking of funk, have you ever heard The Temptations give it a shot? 'Papa Was A Rolling Stone' is a classic.

Bumping this because we all know Funk music is great.
I grew up with funk. It's fun to listen to! My favorites are very old school - Parliament and George Clinton.
And I love love LOVE "Papa Was A Rolling Stone". It's one of my favorites.

I HAVE NIKKA COSTA'S FIRST CD AND IT KICKS ARSE!
Just wanted to say that.
And Parliament is great. My friend actually got to see them in concert when they came to her hometown. She said that George Clinton had literally smoked crack for four hours before going on stage...
