My friend gave me this link to this directory of Mount Eerie, and I see a bunch of mp3 files, but for something called "seven songs,' there's an awful damn lot of them. I'm asuming the first ones of each number are the ones I'll want, but what are the other files for, does anyone know?

You probably want the first one of each track.

The second one is an Ogg Vorbis (.ogg) audio file, which is a format popular on Linux systems, so you probably don't want that. The third, judging by the filename, is a 64kbps MP3 file, which is pretty low quality (but a smaller size, so it downloads faster). The third is a variable bit rate MP3 file; this means that the compression changes according to the complexity of the data, and results in a file of consistent quality and small file size. You could probably download such a file, but I'd go with the first one in each set.

The final set, by the way, looks to be a compressed file containing all the tracks for the album.

Ok, thanks. I just assumed the plain mp3 ones were what I should go with, but I was curious to know what the other ones were also.
