A 16-year-old girl in Brevard County, Fla., was arrested and charged this weekend for allegedly killing a 15-year-old girl with a pocket knife during an argument over a boy, police told Local 6 News.
Investigators said Soriya Richards stabbed Makeedah Cox to death at Saturday's Caribbean Festival at Palm Bay Regional Park.
Witnesses told police the two girls were arguing about a boy near the stage at the festival, which honors Caribbean culture and youth with musical acts among other presentations.
"Richards pulled out a pocketknife and stabbed the girl in the neck, basically severing her jugular," police spokeswoman Yvonne Martinez said.
Palm Bay Fire-Rescue attended to Cox until she was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne where she was pronounced dead. She was a Stone Middle School student, according to school records.
Richards is being held in the Brevard County Juvenile Detention Center.

well not everyone has common sense or has been threw alot with relationships...shes probably neglected at home and the only person she can turn to is her b/f and if some girl was gonna take that away she will have nothing at all..so i think what she did was took out the competition. by killing them which is wrong...but yeah i disagree, but if you want to understand some people, but yourself in there shoes

Can't people control their emotions a little more? I thought killing yourself over a guy or girl was bad.. and now people have demoted themselves to killing other human beings? Don't they think about the impact they could have had in the future. Or the other people they are hurting?

yeah i agree ^^ i think it's impossible to put ourselves in her shoes coz we don't now wat happened she may have been mucked about or wateva and even if the otha girl was horrid she has no right to take someones life. Unless it was a mistake she must have some psychological problems but i guess they'll try and sort 'em in prison
