cB should have "holidays" where you can loosen up the rules just for the day. we can have a partyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. whistling.gif
this isn't spam.
racoons > you
^
*sigh*

well, if you mean loosening the rules in terms of being mor elenient about spam and such, have you considered the job the mods would have clearing up afterwards?

if you mean relaxing member bashing restrictions, have you considered the inevitability that no one would let the arguments go after the holiday? i think we on CB have proven ourselves mightily incapable of just dropping things and moving on...

if you mean in terms of advertising, again consider the number of threads staff would then have to go back and close/delete.

all round, a dreadful idea
xcaitlinx
^ i agree...and i think most of the mods would too.
iNyCxShoRT
Well, thats like having a party though. It'll leave mods in charge of cleaning up. No offense, but I don't think it's such a good idea. It'll encourage spammers to spam more on the "holiday" and things could get out of hand. Such as unnessary topics, spam, member bashing.
gelionie
I don't support this idea.

Rules are to be followed at all times, and there should be no exception.
Claudel
you all thinking about yourselfs, lol, but wait, what a mod/admin should do on holidays, while they dont have any rulles? ban every1 ?:-)
Gypsy Eyes
I agree, i think this is a dredful idea. As James said, the cleanup afterwards would be horrible
heyyfrankie
i, too, concur with james. and it would be mostly peopel staff because that's where most of the spamming goes on. hammer.gif
KissMe2408
Oh my....yes, let's all have more hell on CB for a day, and then a week cleaning up the spam/vulgar topics/banning & bashing members...yada yada yada.
The definition of a "CB HOLIDAY" is if everyone actually did obey the rules and made the job of modding much easier. now, THAT would indeed be a holiday :)

Agreed.

And no. IMO, that's a very bad idea.

you just strive to get past the rules dont you? is it really that hard just follow them rather than trying to always get around them?

well i dont know if you noticed his post count or when he started on c.b. well the person is a newbie so yeah i think hes tryin to get past it or probably gots something in mind..i think he gots some stupid topics on mind to post..but the c.b. hoilday does sound cool to me...dats the only part
talcumpowder
Sunds being the key word. I like KissMe2408's idea of a CB Holiday sooo much better.
The other one would probably require every staff member to be moved over to People staff temporarily.

max, read that. the cleaning would be hell and post counts would go up so much. theres always the option of not counting post counts, but then nobody would post and it seems pointless.

all im saying is that...hes probably got something planned like dumb topics and i bet people will post replies like no tommorow...well hes got whistling.gif <-- that in his post so thats saying hes got somthing planned and i agree with KissMe2408...her plans sounds better
sadolakced acid
how about a "holiday" thread where spamming (as in going off topic) (but not member bashing) is allowed for a day, then the thread is deleted?
racoons > you
*waves fab five flag*

although, that isnt as much fun when it's non-spontaneous
heyyfrankie
^i thought the fab five was over........?
racoons > you
it is... justin's idea of the off topic/random spam thread made me think of it...
disco infiltrator
Psh, fab five will never disband. We stand together.
tweeak
I miss William sad.gif

The fab five was awesome
sadolakced acid
i refused to join the fab five because i didn't want to change my member title.

(are there still google ads at cB?)
disco infiltrator
mellow.gif Why especially for Jusun?

Where do people get these things? Stop pulling things out of your ass, people...

Jusun doesn't even moderate the forums. He'd have nothing to deal with.
tweeak
But Justin, wouldn't you have been the 6th?
sadolakced acid
^ yet another reason i didn't join.

changing my member title to "the sixth member of the fab five" just didn't appeal to me..
tweeak
No no, you were the top of the honorary list, though. No joining involved
BrokenDream
umm.. wouldn't that get just a little bit out of hand? it would be nice to double post. I personally hate that. but spamming.. no. thats just annoying.I don't really agree. sorry.
sadolakced acid
how about a thread with a morphing topic.

yea.

off topicness should be allowed in certain threads.
technicolour
morphing?

i remember when i was like in elementerary ,god i can't spell, school i used to read those animorph books. ha ha..those were weird..

off topicness/randomness all the way
sadolakced acid
^ oh yea those! and the series finnaly ended at like... 90.

yea... a morphing topic. so you can't really get off topic...
tweeak
I don't know how we could instate a mophing topic, but personally I don't mind when it gets off topic sometimes- especially in like the hate thread when I don't like the topic to begin with- but personally I would enjoy it. Once again, the fab five owned everything

didn't it end at like 30 something? either that or that's where i stopped reading. i don't remember. i liked them for a long time in elemntary school though. i also liked the everworld books by that author even better </off topic>
technicolour
I remember they kept going on and on....

i can't remember which one i stopped at though...
tweeak
I don't either really. i have some guesses, but it really depends on when they ended. i think james read them all
technicolour
They were good books.

That's for sure.
sadolakced acid
there wreew at least 70.

i read tehm all. hurray!

and i think offtopicness should be the only rule relaxed on ""holidays". which means, not really any cleanup, and not any feelings hurt...

yea.

morphing topic... like we morphed to talking about animorphs.
tweeak
54, not counting the extra book things that existed. i had to look it up . i think i stopped around 30 (Spirit Wolf is the worl'd biggest nerd)

I can't go into a topic without morphing it...
sadolakced acid
i loved the extra book things.

the elimist chronicles, the andalite chronicles, the harrka-bokr chronicles...

yea.
latinprep12
well i just figured out what you two are talking about and well i read the books and there really good...but i wish i couldve watched the show...but back then it was pass my bed time..so i couldnt
tweeak

yeah, i don't think i read most of them/ pretty sure i read elimist, though

i bought some book though where you have choices at the end of each chapter and decide how things will happen and end and stuff

it amsued me
sadolakced acid
oh yea, the tetramoph series and the mega morph series and the...
yea.

lots of spinnoffs.
hi-C
^^ It's Hork-Bajr (I think). I too was an Animorphs nerd. I even did a book report on the Hork-Bajr Chronicles.
tweeak
Wow, how'd you remember that? haha

James and I used to play so many animorphs based games when we were in elementary school....ahhh, the good old days

Did you ever read the Regeneration series? It was about clones. I don't know anyone else who ever read them, but the fascinated me. Unfortunately, my library stopped carrying them before they finished the series
technicolour
^ I think our library got in trouble for having them

Parents. rolleyes.gif
tweeak
Really? that's a shame. I enjoyed them. Maybe that's what happened to them. Suddenly they just disappeared. I hadn't know at that point it was a controversial topic, since my mom let me read them
sadolakced acid
oh, what was the series with the howlers and the strange things and it was the animorphs verses 7 howlers in a game set up by the elimist...

kristina, what kind of school was that?
tweeak
the ones i was talking about, or the one carrie corrected? mine wasn't related to animorphs and it was in the public library, not the school one
technicolour
Ha ha..

It was an elementerary..

like 3-5?

Yeah. I think some parent complained cause their kid was having nightmares.

My gosh. Stupid parents.
tweeak
this is what i was talking about

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-h...1321653-4954436

i think our elementary school eventually made us stop checking out goodbumps books. i never liked them. i wasn't at all scared, i thought they were lamely written (yeah, i was a book snob in elementary school). i thought the same thing of the lois duncan books that were popular in middle school
technicolour
goosebumps?

oh my gosh..

I was a book snob too!
tweeak
Hahaha! I remember being so pissed off in first grade because most of the class wasn't allowed in the chapter book section, but she let James, and I was jealous because I could read as well as him, so I boycotted the picture books and didn't read anything from the school library except Amelia Bedelia for the rest of the year
