1. suppose u have a 93-link chain. you must cut the chain into more than two parts that each, except the smallest, has twice as many links as exactly one other chain. (any links you cut open can be soldered back together.) what is the fewest links that you must cut open?

2. what is the greatest three-digit abundant number?
(a number is abundant if the sum of its proper factors is greater than the number itself. all the factors of a number, except the number itself, are proper factors.)

For number one, I think you do this:
2 chains + 1(because its twice the amount)= 3
93/3=21
I don't get 2 so, can't help you..
I MIGHT be wrong about 1..not sure..I think thats how you do it..
