Moved to Showcase Booth

Honestly, I'd take out the paint brushes and that image up top. It seems really random and doesn't go with the rest of your layout. I'd also try to make the gradient on your text at the top more subtle because the changes in shades are too obvious. And the thing I circled in red bothers me. I think it would look better if you moved the arrow up so the transition isn't so... sharp/sudden. Other than that, it doesn't look that bad.

The whole navigation and the fonts for the navigation should look more simple yet stylish.

Also, the gradient text looks too tacky, and that pink&white paint splatter has got to go.

never ever, ever use that pattern overlay on a site nav that has gradient applied. EVER. it looks terrible

adding pink into a layout composed of mainly purple is awkward.

like beenly said; the text looks tacky especially the font choice . dont add gradient to everything; it looks over done afterwards

I don't really like that particular texture you used, to be honest. I was thinking something more along the lines of aged paper or cardboard box panels. I think it would be best if you only had rounded corners on the navigation and on the tab up top because right now it's looking a little too much. As for the image, you should at least try tying it in with the design somehow. It's sort of just sitting there.

I agree with Mike on your edits. Your theme isn't tying in together.

oook. so i changed the texture.
i'm not sure if it works, what you think?
also, i put the design in the banner part.

and also, if you still agree on changing the content corners, then i will.
you think i should change the navigation look? or you think it looks okay like that?

any more feedback?

The smoothness of the gradients don't match with the textures in your header. The drop shadows on the content boxes are way too strong - they overpower the bottom half of the layout. I'd say the second screenshot is an improvement from the first, but you still need to do some work to tie everything together.

no, don't lighten, just give it more of that roughish texture you have on the banner.

im gonna be brutally honest with you.

i think you should scrap this and start over; with ideas of how you want the layout to be like i/e the navigation area; content area AND have a pre-meditated header.

the drop shadows are too extreme for this; you have drop shadow for just about everything on here...

the color purple in my personal opinion is not suited for "gradient" navigations etc.

when i see your navigation; i know what you're attempting but it should look more sleek persay; you shouldn't have so many styles / themes going on in your layout.

either stick with sleek and have navigations w/ gradients like
http://psready.deviantart.com/art/Actual-s...esign-105349885
http://krazytim.deviantart.com/art/v8Blue-69376158
http://dirtycheat.deviantart.com/art/Blue-...eb-2-0-81244060

do you see how they have consistency with the themes in their layouts?
try not to add something like that graphic over there into a "sleek layout" - if you want to use that then have different means of navigation, content area - etc.

hope that helps a bit..
