crossbrowserproblem, firefox? Options

okay, so there's a major problem:
my myspace looks the way i want it to look in IE7 but on firefox, it looks totally different.
i think it is because of the css coding and how each brower reads it or something because i remember this happened before and someone here told me that i had to change my coding.
but right now, my layout does not look the way it is supposed to on firefox.

i don't know how to edit the code to make it look the same way on both browsers but can someone show me?
maybe someone can tell me what codes to replace with what, etc, that way, instead of someone just editing the code code and giving me the correct version, i can learn and see what to replace with what so next time, i can do it myself.
