So I've been friends with this girl since February. We talked mainly everyday and hung out frequently in the summer. Since school has started, it seems as if though she's too caught up with her other friends. I'm not trying to brag about my friend, but I admit that she knows a lot of people and sometimes I get jealous. For example, if you're talking to her in school she'll most likely ditch you after 5 minutes to go talk to someone else.
I mean, she says we're really close friends, but the past couple of weeks seems to be getting boring. We have nothing to talk about anymore and everytime we're on the phone it's like all silent and weird because we can't talk about anything. We're not in any of each other's classes, either. But I don't think she likes me that much anymore now that she has her other friends. She got kept back and I guess she didn't know anyone in 8th grade, but now that we're in high school she knows a lot of people. I get to hang out with her sometimes once a week, sometimes never. I mean, we still talk and stuff, but just casual stuff. We used to tell each other everything and we'd help each other out, but now it just seems different. I don't want to "make new friends" because it just doesn't seem like anyone I want to be close friends with. She's been a really good friend of mine up until september and I just don't want to lose her. I mean, she's like obsessed with this Sophomore girls and they're like best friends and hang out everyday. So I guess sometimes I'm jealous that I'm not her and never will be and she's never going to talk to me like she talks to her. So most of these replies were to make new friends? It's hard to make new friends for me. I've been hurt so much, since the beginning of middle school, about friends. I have a hard time trusting people now. I'm not one of those people who have a lot of close friends. Most of the people I talk to are just people who are there so I don't have to sit alone at lunch. It's that I don't want to lose her but I wish she wanted to be friends with me as much as I want to be friends with her. And I can't hang out with anyone else because I have no one to hang out with. Well, people I want to hang out with. This post has been edited by Cake.: Nov 8 2005, 03:00 PM |

No, I'm planning on it though.
She'll probably say something like "oh." and then ignore it so we can avoid an argument. |

I think I went through that similar experience...well, I went along with her and ended up getting hurt majorly in the end. She ditched me with no explanation, putting all blame on me and started spreading horrible rumours about it.
So this suggestion is coming from an EXTREMELY biased point of view...I'd suggest you find some new friends before it's too late. She might ditch you altogether and you'll be more hurt in the end. |

Once a friendship has broken this far, it might not ever be the same again. :/
I say you find a new group of friends to fall back on. Who knows? There ARE better people out there, you just haven't found them yet. |

I was have been in a similar situation in the past and that friendship ended because of it. The reason being that I never communicated to her about how I felt. It was only until after we graduated high school that the lines of communication open back up again. So communicate, communicate, communicate!!

Same happend with me, Her interests were not similar to mine in highschool, so we parted for sometime, but after we graduated we cought back up on what we've been missing during our friendship. that was for 1 yr we never spoke, but we're friends again, and i like it...I hope this has helped you. good luck to you, i know how this is... Try talking to her sometime asking her somethine like this " you have any new interests from being freshman this year"... |

That happened to me only different. My friend discovered I wasn't going to be popular that much so she ditched me because she had an opening with a popular person. Well, now she sort of lost her popularity and ditched her too. I know how she feels.
