So I'm sitting at home, alone, and there's a tornado watch going on. However many hours ago, the storm got crazy with the lightning and the sudden downpour and my first reaction was to drop my silverware (I was eating dinner when it started), and move into the slightly darker family room.

Do you believe in any old wives tales?

lol no not at all. I don't believe in superstitions. Why did you drop your fork and go into a dark room? I've never heard of anything like that...

Trying to hide out from the lightning. You know, cuz the fork is metal. And for some reason I have it in my head that lightning is attracted to electric lights.

My mom thinks it's bad luck if a bird comes into your house. She also thinks is a bad omen to take someone bread... as, like, a welcoming gift.

I don't believe that kinda stuff. This is kinda creepy, though:

The other day I wasn't paying attention and almost walked under the Arch into campus. I had to swerve around to avoid it. I know it's silly superstition, but I'm not willing to take the chance of not graduating.

Amazingly, people in Arkansas are terrified of tornadoes. Whenever there's even a chance of one touching down people run off into stairwells and "safe" places. I'm from Oklahoma, my elementary school was destroyed by a tornado when I was a kid. It takes a pretty bad storm to freak me out.

fyi, Joanne is a girl's name. And you remind me of Splek.

Hm, superstitions... I'm afraid of walking under ladders. Not really because of the bad luck, but because I'm afraid it'd fall while I'm walking under it. XD.gif

People here, myself included, are the type that won't heed a tornado warning. There is a town way north of me that was completely leveled by a couple tornados in 2004, then again in 2007, and just this year a tornado went through and did some more damage. If I was them, I would move.
