I' was in AVID last year and it's basically about students with a strong determination on being able to take a.p. classes and preparing for college. I'm not in AVID this year for 8th grade, because I forgot to turn in my application, LOL.

Anyways, the AVID teacher wants me to join her class, since two of the kids got kicked out. We have to carry a big binder (approx. 3 inches) and we put ALL of our assignments and notes from all of our classes to the binder. ( I only have 7 classes a day) My old Avid teacher didn't grade our binders, but this year's AVID teacher grades the binder every Monday of a week.

So far, High Schools from my county are trying to recruit me to AVID for next year, and I'm hoping to join AVID again. Although, AVID is then considered as your major when you're in high school, but you can still have electives.

AVID basically preps you for college, like taking Cornell Notes, visting colleges or universities, and tries to push you to doing your very best. AVID is also kind of like study hall, since we do homework from other classes and have tutorials on questions we don't understand. We also do projects on things we like or projects that's on our character and personality.

Next year, when I'm in 9th, we're probably going to be practicing college application papers. As of right now, AVID wants me to take a Practice SAT.

ARE YOU IN AVID?

Fat = Me.
Loner = Anti-Social people who don't want to open up?
Nerd = For AVID, you must have AP classes.

In my class, everyone was preppy or funny. There were mixtures of different characteristics, really.
