Weird topic title, heh.

Are there things that you always buy at the grocery store that aren't "normal" staples (e.g. flour, salt, eggs, etc.)? I don't buy anything that's too weird, but whenever I go to the grocery store I always buy some fresh basil and almonds.
Reason for edit: "i.e." =/= "e.g." ;) - Cristy Either one of them sounds ok to me =P -Dee

Id say we have a large list of staples.
We dont have a large variety of foods.
My dad will buy something and we'll like it so then he just keeps on buying it until we hate it.
I have been eating curry for a week. Its finally gone.

I always buy almonds as well. They're very good for you (in moderation).

Aside from cooking essentials (ie, flour, sugar, etc) I try to make sure that there is turkey bacon, carton of egg whites, Tapatio or Chalula sauce, a combination of fat free half-n-half AND flavored fat free creamer (typically vanilla caramel), balsamic vinegar, white vinegar (for cleaning out the coffee pot), turbinado sugar, sourdough bread, frozen french fries and hot dogs in the house.

I go shopping on a weekly basis though, so if something is missing, not a big deal to pick it up next run.

What do you do with, "Tapatio or Chalula sauce"?

What do you do with an account that is supposed to be used for a design competition? ;)

I'll be nice and respond though.:) Tapatio and Chalula are hot sauces (like Tabasco Sauce) that I eat while having egg whites and turkey bacon. It keeps things low fat while being plenty tasty.

Right now I have to pass on buying almonds, because I am poor. But, omg, chocolate covered almonds... mmmm.

My dad always buys pickled herring. Possibly the worst smelling thing that I've ever come across. He eats them and drinks beer sick.gif

I should add cottage cheese to my list. I hated it as a kid but now I eat it all the time.

Er...probably Vita Lemon Tea. I think if we ever ran out of it there would be a riot at my house. That and Maggi.
