I need a campaign logo created for a school project (the logo itself is NOT the actual project, and we have been given permission to outsource such tasks).

here's a rough template of the design:

the concept is a "y" that includes the stars and stripes, and is also a torch (represented by the flame at the top of the y)

the actual letter must obviously be much more smooth in the final design. also, the stripes in the right part of the y (red and white alternating, with red stripes at either extreme - at the edge of the letter and closest to the left) should be smooth and somewhat even. these stripes were inspired by the stripes found on the obama campaign logo.

the left part of the y will be blue. it may or may not contain the white stars depicted in the rough draft depending on how it looks in the final design.

the white flame is where it gets tricky. if placed on a solid background (other than white) the flame can be white and viewed easily. we can also use a gradient to depict the "light" just as the obama logo uses gradient to symbolize a rising sun. but we're not sure what to do if the logo is placed on a white background - how would we make the flame visible? use a red outline and a flame-shape interior in white?

we need to get the basic design layout done first before we add any fancy shadowing/gradients. feel free to add any watermarks to works in progress that haven't been paid for.

the designer will be compensated between $5-15 depending on the quality of the final design. further compensation may be awarded for exceptional work/copies of the logo in multiple colors, etc. payments will be made via paypal. if you feel that this is not enough compensation for your work, please do not reply.

if we do not find any final design suitable for our needs (and therefore do not use the design), we reserve the right to refuse the designer any compensation for labor.

thanks.

i found this tutorial online that more clearly depicts the difference between a basic/fancy design. the colors we are looking for are also similar:

I have two requests, which go hand-in-hand.

The LOGO & MySpace design are for my Artist MySpace which has gathered around ~ 20,000 views during the past year. The artist profile is for my solo work which has started a year ago. You can expect the amount of views to be at least tripled during the next year. So your work would get attention.

The music is electronic dance music, mostly house/electro with a bit twisted attitude, and I would like the work to reflect that attitude a bit. I can throw in examples if needed.

If you are interested, drop me a PM with links to some of your work and we'll continue frmo there.

TYPE OF SERVICE: Logo
THEME: Basicly my name and perhaps a version with my face (as a banner). I would like the logo to have a bit of in-your-face attitude, but i'm very open to suggestions in this matter.
OTHER: I would like to be able to use it in many sizes, as it would probably be featured on many sites.

TYPE OF SERVICE: MySpace Layout
THEME: Again, I would like the in-your-face attitude here. I'll deliver at least a couple of photos, and of course a BIO / Discography text. Furthermore, there are few links/logos to record label and such you need to fit in.

if you want to check out my current myspace, its http://www.myspace.com/timojuuti ... the photos there are old/bad and not the ones you would be using.

I hope this covers it all. If not, just say! :)

I didn't get it done for free, so i'm offering around 70 dollars for the package including logo and myspace. Drop me a PM with links to your work if interested.

Request thread Re-opened. There are new rules and these rules will apply to anyone who makes a request after my post. :) Aka After February 1, 2008 at 2: 44 PM pacific time.
RULES
  • You must have 50 posts to request a layout.
  • You must have 25 posts to request a graphic.
The thread will be cleaned out more often and anyone who makes and post and does not have the required amount of posts will have their post deleted.

Not to be rude, but I feel like requiring someone to have a certain amount of posts in order to purchase a layout isn't right. I'm a band manager and too busy to make 50 posts. If I had that much free time I would just learn how to make them myself and save bands money.

Is there a reason behind having to have that many posts? I completely understand if someone is requesting a free layout... but if they're paying I don't get why they have to post that much.
