Forums _ Food _ what's the best breakfast in the world?

Posted by: brooklyneast05 May 17 2010, 10:19 AM

i feel without a doubt the best breakfast is cold pizza.

Posted by: spambot May 17 2010, 10:33 AM

chocolate chip pancakes. I hate cold pizza now. I'll only eat it if I am realllly lazy.

Posted by: tokyo-rose May 17 2010, 10:39 AM

I just finished a slice of pizza a little while ago. I heated it up in the microwave, but I like cold pizza.

Pretty much anything on f*ckyeahhkfood's Tumblr, but this is a typical Hong Kong breakfast:

Other foods:

Not really a breakfast food, but I would still eat it in the morning.

scrambled eggs and turkey sausage * A*

Posted by: spambot May 17 2010, 10:46 AM

I never eat breakfast since it makes me sick, though. Pancakes or omelet with green/red pepper onion and cheese are the only thing I might consider eating. And I usually have to be the one making them because everyone else sucks at cooking. I'm someone who will eat breakfast at night/during the day though.

Not even cereal? I always have to eat breakfast or else I get too hungry by 11AM.

holy shit cheese and sausage (no homo)

Idk though. In terms of healthiness or good for the soul? I always have loved french toast. Lately though, I've been eating a bowl of cheerios w/ sliced bananas and strawberries in them. That or I'll make a smoothie out of yogurt, strawberries, bananas, orange juice, and a fiber supplement.

I actually usually don't eat anything till about 3-4pm.

Is that when you get home from school? Last semester, I ate breakfast around 9:30, lunch between 11 and 12, and an early dinner/snack around 4:30.

My parents would be pissed if i didn't eat breakfeast let alone eat til 3 :p

I love eating Honey Nut Cheerios and Honey Bunches of Oats, sometimes together. I also like to mix regular Cheerios with Honey Bunches of Oats.

Yeah I was always the poor kid with no lunch money lol so never ate at school. Plus, I used to stay up all night and sleep during the day during the summer a few years back. Even though I don't do that anymore the habit of not eating just stuck. I am not the healthiest one around.

Not to be a health f****t or anything but my family kinda started heading in the direction of actually reading nutrition labels and shit so I decided it couldn't hurt to jump on with them and I've been watching what I eat for the most part. When I go out I don't really pay attention, but when at home I figure I might as well eat what's healthy. When you're in control of what goes into your food and drinks it's pretty easy to avoid loads of sugar / bad fats and focus on more important nutrients to consume. If you do it right you can make it taste just fine, too. Fruits and vegetables if prepared properly can be added into almost everything and add flavor to everything.

You live in Virginia Beach, right? Or did you move? I don't know what the school lunch policy/funding is like there, but in New York City, you can get either free or reduced lunch prices if your parents make below a certain amount of income. I never had to pay the full price for lunch in elementary school, and then I just brought my own when I reached seventh grade.

I'm not a health freak, but I read nutrition labels when I buy junk food or am trying to decide between different brands for a product I don't buy often. I much prefer eating fruit to candy and other processed food, since it's sweet and contains natural sugars instead of refined sugar, which is like poison for you body. I eat a lot of vegetables at school and when I'm at home, since the dishes my mom makes have a lot of Chinese vegetables in them.

Same. My first meal of the day is usually a bag of doritos and a 16 oz. coke, some time I'll mix things up and grab that Arizona brand southern style sweet tea that's $.99 for a 24 oz. can.

Me too !!(with my omelet as an exception since it's more onion and cheese then anything) I will eat eggs if I have to though only because they are cheap which means sometimes they are the only thing left in the house. Desperate times calls for desperate measures.

I've been going through a major peanut butter and banana shake phase (2 tablespoons peanut butter, 1 banana and 1/2 cup skim milk). It's sweeter than it sounds. Ugh I can't get enough of them.

It is delicious! You will not regret it. Jjajangmyeon (the Korean version of zhajianmian) is good too.

I probably posted this back when the topic was started, but anything with Hong Kong-style milk tea = perfection.

i believe the fruits mask the taste of spinach. i don't think it's that abnormal.

jackie warner's recipe lawl
"- Blend a whey protein shake every morning adding the following: 1 handful of fresh or frozen spinach (the fruit cuts the strong green flavor), 1 cup of frozen mixed berries, the recommended daily dose of flaxseed oil, amino acid powder, water, and ice."

Yeah I think they do too. I tried one of the V8 fusion drinks with the fruit and the vegetables. It wasn't too bad. The fruit masked most of the vegetables but I could still slightly taste the tomato and after a few sips I got a little disgusted.
So now i want to try this fruit & Spinach blend.

it just tastes like a fruit smoothie (crazy good), but it's green. I get a bag of mixed frozen fruit which is pineapple, mango, strawberry, peach and papaya. but i leave out the papaya. if i'm out I use whatever I have as long as it's a sharp sweet taste. makes about 60oz and costs no more than a dollar.
