Chickens ARE very stupid animals. Did you know that they are so stupid that they will drown themselves in a puddle, rather than try to get out? Chickens also carry a lot of diseases.

Comparing chickens to dogs is what is stupid, imo. This has been happening for a long time, but there are more important things that people can focus their energy on.

thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

look if your right about chickens being dinosaurs then I invented the internet
and yea we have seperate opinions and because of that you should be willing to accept criticism if you openly state your opinion because not everyone agrees. Chickens have not been a big issue and will never be big enough for the government to get invovled with, so its basically a waste of your time. I bought genocide in because your trying to make it seem as if our visions are distorted about chickens but Im proving to you that your vision is more distorted if your willing to consider the lives of unnatural chicken before the death of millions of people.

Have you tried looking up and see if my statement was correct?
Many people like you, see that chickens are nothing more than the face of "Kill it, Eat it, We don't care." I did not state that chickens are more important than the genocide, i said that YOU SHOULD NOT SAY SOMETHING THAT IS OFF-TOPIC. You are making it seem that I care more about chickens then genocide. If you want to nag about it, make it to another place to write about.

why dont you support your statement first? obviously chickens are animals not reptiles. Im not saying anything off topic, Im giving you a wider more knowledgeable view so that you dont make the same immature mistake again. And dont just to conclusions. Im a member of Peta. but I dont agree with everything they support and I never will. I never said "kill it, Eat it, We dont care" you shouldnt be getting off topic. I said I deal with it cause its life. Get that straight. Look this topic is pointless and everyone seems to disagree with you so stop wasting your energy, your just setting yourself up.

I never stated that you were implying to chickens were stupid.
Some people have left emoticions with sad or crying expressions.
That does not mean they disagree. You said everyone replying to this thread would disagree.

You didn't read that they had higher levels of intelligence than currently thought?

Ok, it seems like a lot of people are misinformed. Beenly, in my opinion you should do some research on what you are so passionate about "saving", before you tell other people that are not informed about what is happening. You can't call something cruelty just because if it happened to you right now it would be cruelty.

For example, many birds beaks are cauterized. This is something that PETA has been getting hot headed over, because the animal can feel it. BUT, this usually happens at birth, so it is less tramatic for the animal. A simular thing happens with cows, called dehorning. Either they are put in and entrapment and have their horns physically removed and then a vet places powder on the wound to help their blood clot and keep from bleeding. Or, the more humane way, their owners place a thick paste on their horns before they are weaned from thier mother's milk and it slowly burns away their horns. By time both the chicken and the cow are adults, they will not have remembered this happening to them.

Do you eat meat? Why do you only have an issue with birds? Why don't you have an issue with the treatment of cattle? Maybe you should start waving a red flag at the people who drink milk, because they are exploiting the nutritional resources that are intended for it's young?

I replied with a crying face cause I dont like E fights but your obviously acting way to immature about the situation.

Again let me say it with caps this time to your second statement

I NEVER SAID CHICKENS ARE STUPID
I dont give a rats ass about their intelligence level

Chickens are chickens, okay you eat it, I eat it and so does almost everyone else. I dont see a reason why we should give chickens so much attention. Also you have never proved to me that chickens are dinosaurs.

and like Karmakiller said, animals have lower intelligence levels then humans they arent going to get emotional scars for life.

Dee, you said yourself they were stupid. They are actually intelligent. When cows are dehorned, they still live. Chickens loose their beaks, and they basically starve to death. Chickens or Cows won't probably live long, because the fact they've suffered this torture, and would basically die by default.

Chickens or Cows won't probably live long, because the fact they've suffered this torture, and would basically die by default.

I decided to compare the two, because it ultimately happens to both of them for the reason. If chickens have beaks, they will kill either other when they fight. And if cattle have horns they will kill each other either after they are weaned and try to suck on each other or when they fight. It also poses a big risk to the person taking care of the animal.

The term "debeaking" in it's self is a misconception. The entire beak of the chicken is not removed, therefore it does not starve to death. If it is done in birds before they are 10 days old, the do not feel the "torture":

QUOTE
If beak trimming is severe because of improper procedure or done in older birds, the neuromas may persist, and the emitted action potentials are abnormal, which suggest that beak trimmed older birds may experience chronic pain. However, neuromas do not persist in the beaks of birds subjected to proper trimming at 10 days of age or earlier. For this reason, when conservative beak trimming (50% or less of the beak) is done correctly in birds 10 days of age or younger, formation of neuromas is prevented and the keratinized tissue regenerates.

This is what I meant when I said that you should inform yourself before you try to inform other people.

Lol I stopped reading replies when I got to the 2nd page.

Anyway, people do eat dogs, to whoever compared dogs to chickens. _unsure.gif
I mean, the only meat I don't eat is beef because of some buddhist thing (I'm supposed to be all vegan but I stopped after a year-ish), but still, I agree that chickens are really stupid. Lmao, I don't think they have any intelligence at all, honestly. Yeah, this HAS been going on for a while so I don't see why it's being brought up now. It is depressing that they treat the animals that way, but like I said, I don't think they have any intelligence at all. laugh.gif

Although, I never really liked KFC. I'm pretty sure a lot of poor cows get mistreated (I saw it on the news the other day! :O) but nobody cares about that! :(

i do have something to say, i just said it.
people who have a lot of sympathy for chickens...have obviously never actually be around real ones to know that chickens are the stupidest animals ever. out of all the animals you can go on about, chickens are the absolute worst choice imo.

i hate kfc food though anyway.

I kind of agree with you..
And not to mention they are the nastiest animals too,Chickens a gross.
And yeahh I dont eat KfC that much,Maybe 2 times a year, its really gross

You see, in my History class we are doing debating, and one topic came upon this crappy animal. I posted a topic here to see If I was good enough in debating, WHICH I SUCK! You guys, I didn't mean to be rude or anything, I was just acting and wanted to keep a maintain face.
You guys, are superior to my defense and I need to work on that to get a good "A" in class.

I, myself eat chickens everyday, and I actually dislike them. My class was forced to do a topic on this, and I'll now screen shot the whole topic pages. If I told you guys that I was doing this, everyone would probably left and stuff. Now I'd like to thank these
people.

Dee - You're an awesome admin. You're offense was extreme and could even surpass my teacher. You made me twitch and thought provoke more. You would obviously won hands down. thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif

SkyliteX - You're a awesome asian. :) No hard feelings or anything, you're statements were solid and straight. I didn't know anything about the genocide because i'm only in middle school, but you opened my mind to a whole new horizon. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I'M GLAD EVERYONE HAD THEIR THOUGHTS. YOU GUYS RULE!

You guys can CLOSE this thread when I hear REPLYS from these people.

rolleyes.gif This is so old, and who really cares. I mean come on its been happening for the longest time and its not going to stop just because you guys quit eating it.

I mean I'm vegetarian and all and this isn't like its the best thing to happen to them. Also most of the chickens are made and raised just for this reason, and yea I know it sucks to be made for that purpose but its true. Chickens are extremely stupid...very very stupid. One of the most important reason I don't eat them is just because their feed so much growth hormone that they gain so much weight so fast that their legs break. Also the diseases and such they carry is just a bit gross to me.

Sorry, but I wanted to put my input on this. I'm surprised alot of you don't care about this kind of stuff. Yeah that Ninja guy is pretty stupid, and went about this the wrong way. However, I've always thought that we as humans really do act in a way of speciecism. Just because an animal is stupid doesn't really make it okay to kill them and eat them. I mean we're animals too. Should we go off killing other humans because their really stupid and have a retarded condition? No, we don't do that. And I know comparing chickens and Human is redundant, but I don't think it's that farfetched. It's hard to stop consuming meat products, and all that stuff, but it's better to cut back sometimes and think about what we are eating you know.

I mean the saying is "You Are What You Eat". But if you guys don't even know how your food are processed and what goes through on in the background, do you really know who you are if you are what you eat? =\

We all know KFC. Well dont eat there ever again, I read a booklet about how they get the chickens to taste as good as they do.
I'm trying to find pictures/scans. So read my description from what I remeber.

1:They take baby chic's and stick them in a cage until they grow.

2:They keep them in the cage so they dont have enough room to spread there wings.

3:When ready to kill chickens, they hang them by there feet so that theres not as much blood when they cut open what we eat.

PLEASE DO NOT EAT THERE. PLEASE PROTEST!
