i go straight to the cafe
then go to the manga section!!
i wanna know what's more popular i guess..
I'm not that interested in manga.
I like kid's chapter books and picture books. I also like the How-To-Do books.
For me its usually straight to either the young adult, literature, or mystery area of borders. Usually I know what I'm looking for so I just go there and leave.
But the cafe is pretty awesome.
manga, music, teen fiction and children's fiction. :D
I always check out the bestsellers first. And, when I have time, I'll look through the entire fiction section. When I have even more time, I'll check out young adult.
^ Yeah best sellers first then whatever
I hate the little manga kids though, I just want to kick the little ones that just sit there reading...and theres always so many of them!
Young adult section, usually. I also check out the section where all of the making-of-movies books are. Entertainment section, I guess?
Young adults, I typed in yogurt before though.
I go straight to the "Young Adults" part of the store to look for a book. After a while, I'll probably head to the cafè and get a frapp. Or go to the music/art/recreation section.
Photography/art books ftw!
arts music recreation
Manga and Classic novels
fiction, then cafe
It's a tie between teen fiction and manga. This school year I've been going to the manga section first a lot more though. <3Barnes&Noble.
I usually head for the children's section because the young adults can't be too far ahead.
AP BOOKS. I'm a regular at the local Barnes&Noble; they recognize me because there was a time near the beginning of the year when all the AP books were sold it, so I went in like, every other day to check if they were there yet. And they kept telling me they weren't getting any more shipments.
A month later they were there.
At Borders I have an order: straight to the Classics > Photography/art > Young Adult > Travel > Music > Magazines.
When it's a used bookstore (it usually is) I had straight for the classics.
Straight to the cafe. After that, I head to the comics section if they have any (they usually have some trades). If I'm still there, I'll head to either the Autobiographies or books on Philosophy.
Straight to the magazine section. I find something interesting then I head over to the cafe. After I'm done I browse the bookstore. The music section is near the cafe so I stop there. Then I head over to see what the lastest books are in the Graphic Design corner of the store. From there I browse nonficition then fiction books. Lastly, I stop by the Photography, Travel, and Religious sections. Yes, all in that order.
I always feel weird going into book stores and, like, reading the back of books and such.
I usually go to the new books and local favorites tables. lol.
I go to the Starbucks in side & then Young Adults section if Im buying something. If Im not Ill go to the Starbucks then straight to magazines
i usually go to the cafe first `cause i know i`m gonna be long in there and i can`t stand smelling coffee when i know i should have one in my hand.
then i go fiction and that takes up 1/2 of my time there.
after that, i browse through the music section.
Fiction! Palahniuk Or the classics. I love me my classics. Then my next stop is graphic novels!
I usually go to the best sellers first, well depending on why I'm there for example if i'm there to get a few books for some of my classes I do that first, then browse around the best sellers, cook books, home design stuff (re doing the house well we did already, but now decorating and such), fiction. and when I picked out a few books i then head to the cafe
Young Adult
Young Adult
i like the 'thriller' section of the young adults
but i also like the DIY section
I go right to fiction, and then browse for some sort of classic novel. I can't seem to get enough of those.
i usually first go to the young adults, then fiction, children's fiction, performing arts (my new favorite sections), magazines.
I usually go to the new literature section, which is usually right up front by the door. They have all the new interesting looking popular books. Then I go to teen novels, or the rest of the literature section. I also like looking at all the notebooks and scrapbooks and picture frame stuff there is.
I usually go to the bookstore when I know what I'm going to get. xD
Like...today, I might go because I want a book on Latin Phrases and all that good stuff. xD If I had more time to go, I'd probably go to like...classic literature, popular books, teen novels, foreign, mystery, fiction, non-fiction, history...oh gossh, the list goes on and on. :]
I'm glad there was a Manga/Anime option. Sometimes I look at the young adult section too, but manga always goes first for me.
I usually hit up the Fiction and then the History sections. Maybe Biography if I feel like it.
I normally head straight for the history section to see what's new [no pun intended.] I then make my way to the "classic lit" section becauce I read the classics for kicks. I normally end my visit in the travel section, dreaming over books on Britain, making plans for my future trip.
I always go for Science Fiction.
Can't get enough of that!
^ Yes! I forgot about how I usually dart towards the bargain sections/aisles of the book store, too. Can't forget those!
Nope! Bargains rule! ^
I like fantasy too!
I know there's not much of a difference, but I think Fantasy has more unrealistic things happen.
Best Seller
Cafe then young adult :D
The parenthing / Pregnancy section.
I dont know why but i just L O V E it.
Trying to learn a thing or two before i create monsters.
Even though some of the things said in these books are RIDICULOUS and i would never in 1000 years do this to any of my kids!
One of the following: sci-fi (woo Gaiman!), photography, and if those fail me, classic lit. I do more of my reading at home, though, with books from the library. :) More time efficient/cost effective.
Usually magazines, then literature, then the cafe for something on the way out.
I usually go to young adults and end up staying there for hours. A lot of the times I end up in the humor section. I love the 'Would You Rather..." books.
first the magazines and i pick up AP magazine & teen vouge, then I make my way upstairs to the young adult section and gather some books and sit down on the floor and read. Then I debate on which book i'll buy.
Young adults.
young adult and then fiction
Just fiction, usually I grab something and then head to the cafe to read for a bit.
Then I'll do politics, philosophy, music, etc.
I go right up the Literature section (which is fiction at my store) and then maybe to the young adults if I've heard of anything there that I'd like. After probably a short trip to the manga section XD
fiction, young adults, cafe
Idk what its called but where all the horror/mystery book are.
Idk what its called but where all the horror/mystery book are.
hey i dont even walk into a book store
the closest i get is watin outside 4
a m8 of mine or summut
never will i go in a book store
^ LULZ U B SO KOOL!!!11!!1!1
I go to the manga section out of habit. I used to be a huge Inuyasha // Ranma 1/2 // Maison Ikkoku // AnythingbyRumikoTakahashi fan until I finished Ranma and got bored with Inuyasha. But now I can't get into anything after Fruits Basket. All the plots are the same...and dumb.
So after that I go to the young adult section and mull around, then make my way to the photography books.
Oh yeah, and I deff scope out the Best Seller.
I go to the bathroom
=D
Yound adult, and Fiction
Or sometimes art music and recreation
Usually i go to the cafe
usually hit the fiction . . . then classics . . . manga just to kinda glance through . . . art section, magazines. . . straight to young adult or childrens, and then go get some hot chocolate.
before leaving the store, check out all the books on sale, and walk out with about $40 worth
sorry / / /
sorry double posted
sorry
shit, triple posted, and looked like a mad person for the delete person, took me a second to realize i'm not a mod anymore lol
I usually go to the manga section, then to the young adult section.
young adults!
the porno section.
I go straight to the fiction section.
i go to the young adults to check out if there's any new books ^^
to the books. =)
Usually mags or manga.
art, music + recreation
Or over to the web design books.
I'm attracted to mostly the art, music + recreation, love the those (insert name here)_________ for Dummies. My favorite is Photoshop for Dummies but other than that I go look at the Magazines.
Art, music + recreation and young adults.
Altho i am ussually "just looking" and don't buy anything.
i go to young adults and get my books, hit starbucks and then check out
where is Philosophy
I usually have a book in mind that I want to go and buy so I go there first. Then I'll usually look around that section and see if i like anything else.
HA and THEN i go to the bestsellers.
I usually hit the fiction young adult or the anime/manga section.
Then the cafe, (if I'm lucky and my parent's take me)
and magazines last. I like looking up Photoshop books.
I normally go to Barnes and Noble and when you walk in it takes you to the dvd/music section first. Someitmes I'll look around, other times I'll just head straight to fiction/non ficion then to sci-fi. Then maybe downstairs for reference books or something. It all depends.
i just walk in, go to the cafe, head to romance and then head to fiction x]
i honestly think that the romance novels poisoned my mind, haha.
Ive become to most cliche person ever -__- :]
Manga, then music, then back to manga. Then to the Starbucks half a block over. XD
I cannot find the young adult section in my local bookstore, for some reason. Probably has to do with my horrible sense of direction. That and I'm too lazy to actively go look or ask. Hmm.
I usually go to Barnes and Noble with my friends. So when we get there, we go to the cafe and get something small to drink or eat. Then we go to the YA section, and possibly art.
Sometimes I go to look at manga. haha
young adults / horror.
fiction,to get new murakami books
Straight over to the single drop of sci-fi.
I usually go to the young adult, but then get aggravated that the only thing there are books about some young damsel in distress that goes through some journey. ITS BULLSHIT. So then I wander the store aimlessly and go look at Stephen King's or the bestsellers.
Young Adult. I could spend hours there.
I get some coffee and go to the tattoo magazines.
Occasionally I browse books if I have time.
Obviously I go to the manga section. I'm still trying to complete my collection but damn, the volume(s) that I need are never there. :[
i go to fiction and then young adults
Usually manga then magazines.
young adult
then
kids
i go to the milf section
Manga, books on Occultism, magazines, or the Adult section.
^ I saw you at the Adult section, and you got reported for masturbating in a public area. >:o
i go to the young adults section =)
then to the magazines :D
Young Adults, Fiction, and Children.
Gay porn, may I ask?
cafe, then fiction. Or fiction, then cafe. I like coffee.
I guess you sound like the type of person I would invite to my apartment.
Well thats all good
When I go to borders' I usually check out their bargain sections and then to young adults to anime/manga section. BUt when I'm in b&n I go to the young adults/fiction section. From that point I go to the music area and sometimes to Starbucks.
Meh, I'm into fiction and young adult stuff. Everything else is just unappealing.
KAMA SUTRA. HA! just kidding
i check the best-sellers table and sometimes the new stuff that's out. then, i randomly walk around through the literature, psychology, and sometimes art sections. after i've picked up a few selections, i sit down at the cafe.
when you walk in a book store, what section do you tend to usually go to first?
This is going to sound so cheesy, but the cookbook section. I have a definite cookbook fetish. I have an entire bookshelf stocked with nothing but cookbooks.
yeah, i never understand the cookbook thing. my mom has a ton of cookbooks and she rarely ever uses over 3 or 4 of them.
i usually first gravitate to the politics and current affairs. i think i pretty much skim over the entire nonfiction section before going to fiction. there's something more appealing to me about nonfiction books, but at the same time i can't really handle reading very many nonfiction books in a row. i have to have a break and read some made up nonsense.
It makes sense that you would gravitate towards nonfiction. You seem to have a keen interest in current events, you listen to NPR and obviously think about the world.
A friend of mine subscribes to Science and Tech type magazines and always migrates towards Technology or Computer type books.
It seems that something that is a pattern of interest to you would also be a likely subject/section of books you'd head towards initially.
On a side note, I actually do use mine regularly. ;) Some are specific to holidays, some are specific to things that children can help out with.
the four ingredient cookbook is all i need in life.
I always check the best sellers first because you can get discounts on them. Then, if I have a lot of time, I'll go through the entire fiction section.
And if I have even more time, I'll look at the Graphic Art books...lots of cool ones about advertisements, logos, packaging design. Then I'll check out the Beauty/Style section, because I love to look through the Kevyn Aucoin book and see how makeup can make Gwyneth Paltrow and Nicole Kidman look completely freakin' different.
I can spend 2+ hours in a bookstore, no problem.

^you think you're good huh
I have to get this book called the game the next time I am at B&N.
The mystery section.
Adult Fiction :D
I always go for the Manga/Anime section
im the type of reader that has to "have the picture" in my head when i read a story or i can remember the book
so yeah
i sometimes roam to the adult romance, but im afriad people will gie me wierd looks cause they may think im too young
Young Adults/Fiction (:
Fiction. Religion. Psychology for references.
Fiction
Then the arts section for anything visually stimulating.
always fiction.
Manga, First thing, no exceptions. Even if it's on a corner in the back. Then Depending on whats closest, fiction, romance, Best sellers. I usually get the best sellers on the way out since they're usually behind the cashier. I've always been a softie for love stories though...
I have been trying to read all of Kurt Vonnegut's works so I usually go straight to his section. Then if I am with my friends I look around their genres.
To the counter to get my books I reserved lol! Then to the starbucks counter, and then to the magazine. For the next few months, it will be to the testing sections for Asvab and Fire Dept.
First Young Adults. Fiction, Art, and then Cafe last.
Now, I'm into more stuff like CHOOSE YOUR ENDINGS and STORIES.
You know, like those Goosebumps "CHOOSE AND DIE" books..
i just go where i feel like going, just depends on what im looking for lol, i don't really like being in book stores i dont really fit in when im there because im to shady or scruffy lol.
www.carpemanna.com
check out book reviews
i usually go to young adult to find some new books (:
& i SOMETIMES go to music or cafee . haha (:
cafe, me and my best friend live in the coffee place. we do our home work in Borders all the time.
I go to Young Adult, or the Top 10 Books section.
Sadly, I don't get to go to bookstores as much as I'd like. Really, I only go when I specifically need a book.
