Alrighty, I have a header-image. I put it in the CSS background tag because I do want some text to overlap it.
But, for some insanely agitation reason, LJ simply will not interpret "center" as center. No, it interprets it as "right." It works when I plug that into an HTML page, but not on LJ. I've even put it into the Global Head tag. Still doesn't work. Anyone have any idea why that refuses to work? LiveJournal in question There's the journal if you want to see what it's doing. Ignore the entries and stuff. I haven't gotten to them yet. I've been wrestling with this estranged alignment issue. |

Hm.. The background is centered for me, I even changed resolutions. It looks fine. Maybe you've been working on it already then. :P
I'd tell you how to fix the entries, but I'm assuming you know since you said you hadn't gotten there yet. Is the background still not centered for you? .:edit:. Nevermind, I'm using Firefox.. I saw it in IE and it is misaligned. X( Let me mess around with it a little. .:edit again:. Got it - just take out "center". All you need is background-position: top; and that should work. |

Nope, still doesn't work. And I -am- using firefox. >_> I don't know why it's not working...
Actually, I've tested it in both browsers and I have the same problem. I'm on 1024x768 res... not that it should matter. It should center anyway... |

Weird.. It looks fine for me in the same resolution in Firefox, just not in IE. And it worked fine when I changed it in my test journal.
http://www.livejourbal.net/users/nu Does that look centered for you, or is that wrong too? ^ |

It's official: Livejournal must be possessed, because yes, that looks centered for me.
I took out everything but the GLOBAL_HEAD (I threw some random junk under the LASTN_WEBSITE and LASTN_HEAD, nothing significant), pasted what you have, and it works. Put my coding back under LASTN_HEAD, it croaks again. Lo and behold, it wasn't even the GLOBAL_HEAD coding. >_> I fixed it. Stupid thing. I wondered what was up. |
