well it might hurt if you put it incorrectly or sth
yeah you can get this disease or sth if you leave your tampon in you for too long. not to scare you but you might die from it.
and i don't think 14 is a young age to start wearing one

I don't know...Tampons always hurt me, I don't wear them. I should though. I know that if you get used to them and put them in right than they don't hurt, but they can if you do it wrong.

sth...? huh.gif

but anyway, it's rare to get that disease because the US tampons are safer or something, i read it in a cosmopolitan, it's not supposed to hurt but for me it felt really weird...

14 isn't too young, i think that's when i started

weenie.

lol, sorry, but still...it's not THAT hard, sure it hurts the first few tiem soyu try but once you get it rigth it's so worth it. and it's not like ti's that painful seriusly!!! you are doing it so you can control how fast you put it in and stuffit's really not a big deal...and if oyu cna't handle with it the first itme you try just simply slowly pull it out and try some other time, it's not a big deal... _unsure.gif

I only wear tampons now, pads are icky pinch.gif

and 14 is not too young, I started wearing tampons my second period and I was 13, tampons rock!

jsut make you sure you buy ones that say "teen" or "extra slender" or "smooth for easy insertion" etc....ya, that helps alot...altohuhg now I can use any kind, through one at me I'll put it in, I dont' even feel it anymore rolleyes.gif

and I've never worried abotu tss...maybe I should've I donno, but I bassically didn't know it existed fofr like 6 months and I Was using tampons all that time blink.gif I wouldn't worry about it...my mom's been using them all her life and done's have tss, my aunts used them all her lfie and she doens't have tss, all 6 other of my aunts I'm pretty sure use them and they don't have tss, my girl cousin uses them and she doens't have tss, almsot all of my freinds use them and they don't have tss....anymore questions? tongue.gif

no, if you have questions about how to put it in, look at the info sheet that comes in every tampon box, or ask your mom...?

I started at 13.. they're so much more comfortable, and won't hurt if you place them in correctly!

nonono its fine! my mom made me use tampons right when i got it at 12..it was annoying though..because it took me 3 months to figure out how to use them.

but seirously, it sems liekt hey would hurt but they don't at all.

you just have to be careful if you are worried about diseases. tss happens when you leave it in for to long (over 8 hours--so don't sleep with them in) and the cotton is up there and gets all this bacteria buildup which is what causes that. you won't get tss if you stay careful =]

I haven't tried them, but from what I've heard....They shouldn't hurt if you put them in correctly and follow the directions in the box.

no, this year, a girl from my school died because she left her tampon in too long. she was rushed to the emergency room, but yeah...didn't make it on time.

so now, im scared. pads are good enough for me, even though they're gross.

TSS is extremely rare. And it only happens when you leave it in too long. I change mine every four hours.

At first, tampons are uncomfortable. But they don't hurt, if you put it in right.

tampons aren't bad. i only use them really when i need them. (such as going to the beach, a dance, etc...) when i first used one, it didn't hurt going in.. it hurt coming out. but no worries, you get used to it. don't be afraid of getting tss. as others had said, if you don't leave it in for more than 8 hours you have nothing to worry about. _smile.gif the chances of you getting tss is extremely odd.

I use them and i was real freked out by them at the start!
u know i felt more comfortable using tampax tampons at the start coz they come with instruction and even diagrams (nice!) but u see the thing is u have 2 be relaxed other wise u will feel abit funny about it! if it helps even use a mirror i wasnt very good at aiming first time! lol

its practice that makes perfect! I felt abit strange wearing one 1st time too but u get used to it!

TSS only happens when u leave it in too long i think its 8 hours u can leve them in 4 but u will have 2 check on tht 1 so u can always set a reminder on ur phone even 4 ur own piece of mind!
see things are never as bad as they seem!

oh gosh...I wear them wehn I sleep..tha'ts what I liek them msot for huh.gif cause if I wear pads the blood seeps out cause of my awkard positions _unsure.gif

errrr, I tihnk you can wear them at nigth unless you usually sleep fro like 12 hours or something laugh.gif I mean I hardly even sleep for more than 8 hours so it's fine...and actually my mom sleeps in alot cause she a stay at home mom and she wears them at night, I don't think you should get too worried... wacko.gif

soo many risks?!?!? first of all there is onl one risk: TSS. and it is very, very, very, very unlikely. You are probably more likely to get in like 20 car accidents in your life than get tss stubborn.gif that is a lame excuse.

too complecated to change?!?!? give ma break. first of all, once you get the hang of them (could take a couple months) than they are certianly not complcated to change AND they are far easier to fit in your purse or what not (casue htey are so small), infact, often I just stick them in my pocket and no one notices, altouhg that only works if you have fairly large pockets on your patns.

further more, TAMPNS ROCK!!!!! if you are a girl ,and ahave a period, you should try tampons, they are a blessing from god..and tha'ts coming from an athiest wink.gif

Everyone should at least try tampons, they are the best thign in the intire world whistling.gif

I definitely prefer tampons over pads. No "pad rash" _smile.gif
14 is a pretty good age to start wearing them. Just follow the directions and change frequently. Whenever you need to use the facilities, that's probably the time you need to change. Just don't keep it in longer than 8 hours.

they don't hurt at all and they're a lot easier to keep up with, plus they don't start to stink like pads. 14 is a good age. if you're scared of tss (which you shouldn't be because it's so freakin rare) then just go with unscented ones (smelly ones smell like crap anyways) because the scented ones are supposed to be the ones that normally give tss, or so i've heard.

The first time I did I fainted... Idk but I guess my body just reacted weirdly to it... I musta had it in wrong.. so unless I'm swimming I stay away from them... I think they're uncomfortable too! I can always feel them!

[FONT=Courier][SIZE=7][COLOR=blue] TSS = toxic shock snydrome this only happens if u leave the tampon in to long, the longest (depends on your flow rate) anywhere from 4 to 8 hours its not very common now a days. if u think you have TSS well the symptoms are similar to the flu TSS (toxic shock syndrome) is a rare but serious disease that has been associated with tampon use. TSS is recognizable and treatable. But - most importantly, there are actions you can take to reduce the risk of developing it. Women should use the lowest absorbency tampon for their menstrual flow. The risk of tampon-related TSS may also be reduced by using pads as an alternative from time to time during a period. also in tampax pearl boxes a leaflets that give other info.
If you have any of these symptoms and are wearing a tampon you should remove the tampon immediately and contact your doctor for immediate treatment. Tell the doctor that you have been using tampons and suspect that you may have TSS. also it may hurt when you 1st do it because your not doin it right . they have cartoon like diagrams. because most of the time when u 1st time you dont get it deep enough and the muscles in the clit feel it and may cuz slight pain. on tampons you should insert the cardboard/plastic aplicator to the end of were the 1st half stops, and the push the 2nd half to insert if its too confusing to understand im sure u can google it and find a diagram _smile.gif hope i could help anyone cool.gif
